Luxetips Annual Best of (2011) List!

Hello Divas!

I am slowly working my way back into mainstream.  I have to make an appearance in the office today and of course the luxe kids won't let me be sad.  They are little rays of sunshine.

But I had to appear for my annual "Best of" List for the year 2011.  2011 was a hard year, but there were still some products that rocked my world.  This year instead of doing 12 to coincide with my "12 Days of Luxetips Before Christmas Posts", we are doing 10...( I am a little late).  Check them out!

1. HEXBUGS 

Luxe son and I discovered HEXBUGS at Blogher 2011 in San Diego.  They are tiny robotic creatures that behave like a bug.  These tiny robots scurry about, turn, and flip on their back and back again.  My son loves them.  They also come with a glow in the dark Habitat that allows the Nano to roam freely while performing cool tricks!  Hexbugs are designed to give kids a positive experience with robotics at an early age.  Love it!

2.  Hotel del Coronado Resot, San Diego, CA.

I visited Coronado Island and discovered the Hotel del Coronado Resort and fell in love.  Simply gorgeous!  I am so looking forward to taking the luxe kids back to this wonderful resort.  How can anyone resist a beach front property with tons of shopping, good food, sunny skies, dolphins, and fantastic events?  Lovely.

3.  Effie's Paper.

My style and BAP Icon, Kalyn Johnson is the creator of Effie's Paper.  I love writing thank you notes and personal cards to family and friends.  I keep cute stationary in my kitchen draw.  However, Effie's Paper takes cute to another level.  Effie's Paper is modern, chic and fashionable.  Love them!

4.  GAP 1969 Super Lightweight Legging Jeans.

You Divas know how much I love GAP Always Skinny Jeans.  However, now I have a new obsession, GAP's new super lightweight legging jeans.  They are super light and they fit like a glove.  The best thing I love about these jeans are how comfy they are.  Plus I look HOT in them.  They come in a host of colors.  A must have!

5. Lumene Premium Beauty Skincare line.

Of course Lumene is always a winner in my book.  I recently tried their Premium Beauty skincare line and fell in love.  This line was created for women with mature skin...over 50.  I am not there yet, but I love how it makes me skin glow and look so pretty.  It protects the skin against hyperpigmentation and reduces wrinkles.  You can purchase Lumene at any CVS.

6. Bath and Body Works Paris Amour Body Lotion.

I love Paris Amour!  Now I thought I graduated from Bath and Body Works after college.  However, Paris Amour has become my new obsession.  The scent is fruity and floral with hints of musk.  When I wear the lotion, men stop me in my tracks and compliment my scent or ask me what am I wearing.  Paris Amour is a big winner in 2011...hands down.

7. Lancôme's Trésor Midnight Rose 

A twist on the iconic Tresor fragrance.  It is light but still with a hint of seduction.  


8.  Pulisse Lip Comfort Daily Lip Nourisher.

I first started using this product in 2010 and I still use it.  It is by far the best lip balm I have ever used.  This nourisher keeps my lips baby skin soft.  Pur~lisse Pur~lip comfort is petroleum free and contains Mango Butter, Shea Butter, Rice Bran Oil, Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E lavish moisture.  


9. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 20. 

I love this product! It is lightweight and you can use a little or a lot depending on the amount of coverage needed. Plus it includes SPF20.10. Hunter Boots!I love my Navy Hunter boots! They are great for the rain, ice, snow or simply when I want to keep my feet warm while running errands. I get tons of compliments from women and men alike. Everyone loves them.hunte boots

Lancôme Supports Pediatric Cancer Research With Genes Day!

How was your weekend?  I hope it was filled with peace and relaxation.

My favorite luxury beauty brand, Lancôme, is once again celebrating Genes Day on October 21st.  Genes Day is a one day national beauty event that celebrates the beauty of scientific research.  Lancôme will donate $7 from every purchase of their award winning and best seller, Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate, towards  St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Last year Lancôme's Genes Day raised over $300,000.  These much needed funds went towards pediatric cancer and childhood disease research. Fabulous!  

And if you Divas want to get in on this amazing giving campaign early, Dillard’s is the place to shop!  Dillard's has jumped on the Genes Day campaign and customers can visit any Dillard's now until October 23rd to participate in Genes Day.  Go Dillard's!

Lancôme Draws Inspiration From Candy Darling for Chriz Benz 2012 Spring Collection

Give someone a compliment today, it might lift their spirits and make their day.

Lancôme lead make-up artist Daniel Martin, drew inspiration from Andy Warhol's it girl and pal, Candy Darling.  Daniel Martin created a look that consisted of clean and glowing skin with a pop of color.  Now I love this look!  This look reminds me of Spring, fresh flowers and sundress.  

The look:

Not a fan of the eighties hair, but the make-up is fresh.  Sea foam green was used on the eyes, with lots of mascara, tangerine blush and a soft red lip.

Lancôme Creates Sporty Look for Victoria Beckham Spring 2012

I hope you have a truly awesome day!

Mercedez-Benz New York Fashion Week wrapped up yesterday and Luxetips has the scoop on Spring 2012 make-up and fashions.  Lancôme once again created the look for Victoria Beckham's Spring 2012 Collection.  I am a huge fan of Victoria Beckham's sheath dresses and this collection was definitely form fitting but with with a colorful sporty edge.  

Lead Lancôme make-up artist, Charlotte Tilbury created fresh and glowing skin with no color.  She wanted a more "handsome" and "sporty" look to compliment the clothes.  I personally prefer some color on the face, but this is an interesting look. What do you think?

Luxetips Beauty! Lancôme does Kim Kardashian Flawless Wedding Look!

I was thrilled and not surprised to learn that my absolute favorite luxury make-up brand, Lancôme, was responsible for creating Kim Kardashian's flawless wedding make-up look.  She is of course already gorgeous, but this look created by Kim's make-up artist, Mario Dedivanovic, was simply perfect for Kim's big day.  She looked every bit the glowing blushing bride.

To create that perfect blushing bride glow, Blush Subtil in Rose Romantique was used on Kim's cheeks.

The look was finished with  La Laque Fever Lipgloss in Ravishing Coral.

More importantly, Kim was definitely glowing from within! She looks very happy and in love.  Congrats to Kim and Kris!

Luxetips Beauty! Lancôme Color Design Eyeshadows and Artliner Eyeliners

This post is long overdue, but I have to share my latest eye color obsession. 

Lancôme’s Color Design single eyeshadows are phenemenol. I love the smooth texture, the pigment, and the staying power. Here are two colors I was recently given the opportunity to try.

Lancôme’s Make It Work, a bright sea green. My favorite!

Lancôme’s Volcano, a shimmer taupe-grey. This is great for a smokey eye.

Lancôme’s Artliner Precison Point eyeliner in Beach Gem, a sparkly dark green.  These eyeliners are perfection.  The point is very fine and you get a perfectly lined eye in an amazing color.  In addition, the colors do not run or fade.  The best.

I wore these colors consistently while at BlogHer in San Diego and I kept getting compliments on how great my eye make-up looked.  I know I need to start doing pics of me wearing the make-up.  I am getting there. LOL!

Lancôme Limited Edition French Touch Absolu

Life is to be enjoyed.  Get out this weekend and just enjoy life!

I am a little late posting this review.  Lancôme sent me their Limited Edition French Touch Absolu lipstick a while ago.  While I thought the color would look "killer" on me, I had been just slapping on lip gloss and heading out the door.


Well after seeing many women rock red and burgundy lipsticks over the past few months, I thought it was time I joined the party.  Of course my beauty arsenal never fails me and I found this beautiful tube of lipstick.

Well the packaging does not compare to the gorgeous deep burgundy color! Wowza!

Well I have been wearing this lipstick to add some "spice" to my life and it is just AMAZING.  Most importantly, 96% of the lipstick's ingredients are all natural.  It contains Almond oil, Argan Oil and Shea Butter; Emollient and regenerating effect: Baobab seed extract; and Anti-aging benefits from naturally derived tocopherol. The lipstick is very light weight too.  But what I love most about this lipstick is that it is just creamy creamy creamy.  It glides on like a dream and is super-hydrating to the lips.

I love the color on my skin tone.  This deep burgundy is timeless and classic.  


French Touch Absolu retails for $35.  It is a Limited Edition so you better snatch it up before it disappears!

Becca Cosmetics Bombara Palette! Life Saver!

Focus on being thankful despite how bad you think things are.  Then you will realize that it is not so bad.

Well who would have thunk it?  I think I lost my make up bag.  It is such an epic tragedy.  I keep hoping it will turn up.  I have called every place I visited and no make up bag.  I am so devastated. Why?  Well for one it was a Harrods make up bag my friend Natasha gifted me.  I mean it traveled all the way from London.  Second, I had all of my latest and greatest make up in the bag. Becca and Mac lip glosses, Lancôme Defencils mascara, a discontinued Lancôme eye pencil in Gold Blaze and about 2 Nars Blushes.  Waah!

Anyhoo, when I discovered the "missing make up bag", the only make up I had in my purse was my Becca Bombara Palette. Boy did this come in handy.  I was able to create a fresh and glowing that rocked in 10 minutes.  The only thing this little Palette is missing is a tube of Defencils mascara. Oh well, you can't have everything.  LOL!

The Bombora Palette is gorgeous and contains from left to right: Mai Tai lip gloss, Bougainvillea lip and cheek creme, Mazu highlighting creme, Raffia eyeliner, Sunburst eyeliner.

I applied the Sunburst eyeliner....It was the closest I could get to my beloved Lancome Gold Blaze eye pencil.  I then applied the Mazu highlighting creme to my brow and on the top of my cheek bone.  Next I applied the Bougainvillea lip and cheek creme with my fingertips to the apple of my cheeks.  Lastly, I applied the Mai Tai lip gloss to my lips.  I looked so peachy and natural.  It was a perfect look for a day on the beach, or in my case, a beautiful sunny afternoon.  I love this Palette.  Now I have had it for quite some time, but usually I use the Raffia blue eyeliner and the highlighting creme only.  I really did not think the Mai Tai lip gloss or the Bougainvillea lip and cheek creme would look good on my skin tone.  But Becca has really shocked me with how well the colors work with my skin tone. Fabulous!

I will upload some pics of my face utilizing this gorgeous Palette in a few days.  Don't worry pics will be coming soon because this is all I am using until my make up bag resurfaces or until I buy more make up. Sigh.
