Becca Cosmetics Bombara Palette! Life Saver!

Focus on being thankful despite how bad you think things are.  Then you will realize that it is not so bad.

Well who would have thunk it?  I think I lost my make up bag.  It is such an epic tragedy.  I keep hoping it will turn up.  I have called every place I visited and no make up bag.  I am so devastated. Why?  Well for one it was a Harrods make up bag my friend Natasha gifted me.  I mean it traveled all the way from London.  Second, I had all of my latest and greatest make up in the bag. Becca and Mac lip glosses, Lancôme Defencils mascara, a discontinued Lancôme eye pencil in Gold Blaze and about 2 Nars Blushes.  Waah!

Anyhoo, when I discovered the "missing make up bag", the only make up I had in my purse was my Becca Bombara Palette. Boy did this come in handy.  I was able to create a fresh and glowing that rocked in 10 minutes.  The only thing this little Palette is missing is a tube of Defencils mascara. Oh well, you can't have everything.  LOL!

The Bombora Palette is gorgeous and contains from left to right: Mai Tai lip gloss, Bougainvillea lip and cheek creme, Mazu highlighting creme, Raffia eyeliner, Sunburst eyeliner.

I applied the Sunburst eyeliner....It was the closest I could get to my beloved Lancome Gold Blaze eye pencil.  I then applied the Mazu highlighting creme to my brow and on the top of my cheek bone.  Next I applied the Bougainvillea lip and cheek creme with my fingertips to the apple of my cheeks.  Lastly, I applied the Mai Tai lip gloss to my lips.  I looked so peachy and natural.  It was a perfect look for a day on the beach, or in my case, a beautiful sunny afternoon.  I love this Palette.  Now I have had it for quite some time, but usually I use the Raffia blue eyeliner and the highlighting creme only.  I really did not think the Mai Tai lip gloss or the Bougainvillea lip and cheek creme would look good on my skin tone.  But Becca has really shocked me with how well the colors work with my skin tone. Fabulous!

I will upload some pics of my face utilizing this gorgeous Palette in a few days.  Don't worry pics will be coming soon because this is all I am using until my make up bag resurfaces or until I buy more make up. Sigh.

Lancôme’s Définicils Precious Cells Mascara and Black Lash Friday Event

It is an early Sunday morning and I am up blogging and getting prepared for the week.  I am so thankful to God for all my blessings. He is so awesome!

I meant to write this post a while back, but it slipped my mind.  I don't know how because I wear this Mascara EVERYDAY.  I didn't think it was possible, but Lancôme created a Mascara that I know is better than the original Définicils. Amazing.  I have been wearing Lancôme’s Définicils Precious Cells Mascara since July and my lashes are insane right now.  This Mascara has given my lashes volume, length, and I have been losing less lashes.  Yep. No lie.  It seems to make lashes grow. 

I also discovered the trick to get crazy volume is to apply about 3 coats....2 coats is not enough.  But if you wipe the brush before applying each coat, it will give your lashes volume, definition, and length.  Here is a recent picture of my lashes with Precious Cells:

As I previously reported, Lancôme’s Définicils Precious Cells is formulated with nourishing apple lysate.  This formula is like "skincare for the lashes."

Lancôme’s Définicils Precious Cells Mascara: My Review

As you know, I am having a contest on Luxetips.com giving away a tube of Lancôme’s Définicils Precious Cells Mascara.  Lancôme sent me out of tube to try and the following is my review:

I have been using the Mascara for almost a week and overall I am pleased.  Définicils Precious Cells reminds me of a more creamier version of the original Définicils.  It gives crazy length, but I did not see as much volume as it claims.  If you want unbelievable volume, stick with Hypnose.  The helix-shaped brush is super cool.  It allowed me to coat every lash..even the tiny inner corner lashes.  I loved that.  Notably, the Mascara does not run.  At the end of the day, even in the stifling humid heat, the Mascara stayed in place and did not cause black eyes...running Mascra. LOL!  But I believe the best feature of Définicils Precious Cells is that my lashes are soft and flexible and not hard.  The creamy formula infused with nourishing apple lysate, definitely kept my lashes conditioned and nourished.  I guess the soft and flexibility of the Mascara is what reduces lash lost as Lancôme claims.  As I stated before, skincare for the lashes! Nice.

I am going continue to use Définicils Precious Cells instead of my original Définicils.  I am really enjoying the slight change.

Taraji P. Henson wears Lancome at the BET Awards!

Regardless of what state you are in, you can always turn it around! Yep!

Well I did watch the BET Awards on Sunday night.  Some of the performances were phenomenal while others were lack luster.  You know I just wish they would make the artist do the clean version instead of bleeping out the entire song.  But I really wanted to see the fashions and make-up.  Notable looks: Monica's make-up was INSANE! Flawless! I loved Lauren London's hair color and Taraji P. Henson looked AMAZING!  I loved her hair, make-up, and her silver dress.  However, I did not know until yesterday that a host of Lancome products were used to create her stunning look.  You know I love Lancome, so it was a pleasant surprise.  Taraji and I are about the same brown shade, so you know I have to copy this look!

I Need This in My Life: DiorShow Iconic Mascara

I hope you had a fabulous Memorial Day Weekend! I relaxed, so I am very happy! I decided to start a new category on my blog entitled: I Need This in My Life. These posts will feature items that I want but have yet to purchase....probably because I have already spent my luxe life budget. LOL! First item up is Dior's Diorshow Iconic Mascara. Now I am already a fan of DiorShow Mascara. As a luxury brand Mascara, I would rate it a close second to Lancome's Defencils. Well this new Iconic Mascara claims to give you the same length, volume, and thickness of DiorShow and also curl your lashes! Sounds fab right? Dior claims the newly designed oblique brush will give your lashes the most amazing and sexy curves! Well I am definitely going to Sephora and test out their theory. I can't wait to get my hands on this Mascara! DiorShow Iconic Mascara retails for $27 and you can purchase it at Sephora. Has anyone tried this Mascara? If so, please share!

Lancome CILS Booster XL: Mascara Base

Happy Monday! It is sooo cold outside, but sunny and pretty! Winter is early this year. Well ladies as you probably know by now, I am on a Lancome kick! But I have always been a fan of their products. My new favorite Lancome product is the CILS Booster XL Mascara Enhancing Base. Now I am a true Defencils fan and it usually gives me very long and perfectly defined lashes. But when I apply CILS Booster first and then apply Defencils, boy you better look out! My lashes are super long, lush and thick, and perfectly defined. I so HEART this Mascara base. I also tested the power of this Mascara base on my girlfriend. She has small lashes and she told me that I could not make them long or pop. Well I applied the CILS Booster and her lashes were long and poppin! She was AMAZED. In addition, the ingredients of CILS Booster include pure Vitamin E, so it also conditions your lashes. CILS Booster retails for $20.50...yes that is a bit steep. But if you make a purchase of $35 or more of Lancome products at Make Up Makes Me Happy, you will receive a deluxe sample of CILS Booster and the award-winning eye-makeup remover Bi-Facil for free! What a deal!

DiorShow: My Review

Okay okay! We have all heard about the fabulousness of Christian Dior's DiorShow Mascara. Now if you have been reading this blog, you know that my absolute fav high end Mascara is Lancome's Defencils. What can I say, it is the best! Read my review of Defencil's here.. However, I am always on the hunt for perfectly long and lush lashes. The first time I tried DiorShow, I was not impressed. I expected the faux lash look, but I had nothing. So I was wondering what was all the hype about?? So one day I am in Sephora and I am browsing Mascaras and there is DiorShow once again. I thought to myself, just try it one more time. Well Divas, DiorShow SHOWED me why it is a cult fav! I applied it myself and in an instant my lashes went from nice and cute to Hollywood Siren Sexy! The only thing I could say was WOW! I really think that the salesperson who applied DiorShow to my lashes the first time, did not have a good technique. Not that I think my technique is flawless, but I am pretty good at applying Mascara. The brush is very very big and usually I am not a fan of big brushes but the formula and brush just work perfectly together. I am in love! DiorShow retails for $24 and you can purchase it here or at any Sephora.

Why I love Lancome and Spinlash Review

How was your holiday weekend? I hope fabulous! Mine was awesome. I needed that 3 day break! Ladies over the weekend, I went shopping for Mascara. I have previously blogged about my absolute love of Lancome's Defencils and Maybelline's XXL. Check it out here. However, I am always open to try new Mascaras. I am obsessed with it! So I go to the Lancome counter and I want to try something different, but I am torn because I love Defencils! The salesperson suggested I try Lancome L'Extreme. She said it would give me extra length, plus seperation and definition. Sounds like a winner to me! Well me no likey. L'Extreme does lenghten your lashes, but it smudges and it did not separate or define at all. My lashes constantly stuck together. Yuck! So this is why, I am going back to Lancome and purchase my tried and true Defencils. Defencils lengthens, seperates, and defines perfectly. In my book it is still the best high end Mascara I have ever purchased! Defencils retails for $24 and you can purchase it at any department store, Sephora, or at Sephora.com.

I also had a chance to try out the Spinlash Mascara, I won last month. This Mascara has a brush that slowly rotates to allow 360 degree coverage of your lashes all at once. Sounds great right? Well ladies I was a little disappointeed in this product. First, the packaging is very cumbersome and it took me a while to figure out how to assemble the Mascara. Second, it has a rubber brush which I am not a fan of. I do not believe they are sturdy enough to properly apply the Mascara to your lashes. Lastly, the Mascara smudges very easily and after I applied the Mascara, I did not see any real difference in my lashes. This product retails for $15.00 and there are less expensive Mascaras that are far better (which I will discuss in a later post) However, it is a good concept.
