Becca Cosmetics Bombara Palette! Life Saver!

Focus on being thankful despite how bad you think things are.  Then you will realize that it is not so bad.

Well who would have thunk it?  I think I lost my make up bag.  It is such an epic tragedy.  I keep hoping it will turn up.  I have called every place I visited and no make up bag.  I am so devastated. Why?  Well for one it was a Harrods make up bag my friend Natasha gifted me.  I mean it traveled all the way from London.  Second, I had all of my latest and greatest make up in the bag. Becca and Mac lip glosses, Lancôme Defencils mascara, a discontinued Lancôme eye pencil in Gold Blaze and about 2 Nars Blushes.  Waah!

Anyhoo, when I discovered the "missing make up bag", the only make up I had in my purse was my Becca Bombara Palette. Boy did this come in handy.  I was able to create a fresh and glowing that rocked in 10 minutes.  The only thing this little Palette is missing is a tube of Defencils mascara. Oh well, you can't have everything.  LOL!

The Bombora Palette is gorgeous and contains from left to right: Mai Tai lip gloss, Bougainvillea lip and cheek creme, Mazu highlighting creme, Raffia eyeliner, Sunburst eyeliner.

I applied the Sunburst eyeliner....It was the closest I could get to my beloved Lancome Gold Blaze eye pencil.  I then applied the Mazu highlighting creme to my brow and on the top of my cheek bone.  Next I applied the Bougainvillea lip and cheek creme with my fingertips to the apple of my cheeks.  Lastly, I applied the Mai Tai lip gloss to my lips.  I looked so peachy and natural.  It was a perfect look for a day on the beach, or in my case, a beautiful sunny afternoon.  I love this Palette.  Now I have had it for quite some time, but usually I use the Raffia blue eyeliner and the highlighting creme only.  I really did not think the Mai Tai lip gloss or the Bougainvillea lip and cheek creme would look good on my skin tone.  But Becca has really shocked me with how well the colors work with my skin tone. Fabulous!

I will upload some pics of my face utilizing this gorgeous Palette in a few days.  Don't worry pics will be coming soon because this is all I am using until my make up bag resurfaces or until I buy more make up. Sigh.

Luxetips Style: Amatuer Stylist I Am

Hello Divas!

I hope life is treating you wonderfully! Remember be slow to anger and quick to forgive.  It just makes life easier.

As you know, sometimes I am an amateur make-up artist to THE FRIENDS.  I am also an occasional stylist also.  It really is not work or a chore for me, because I LOVE shopping and finding fabulous looks for less.  I have helped my girl, funkidivagirl, via texting and other good friends in store.  Recently, my friend Renee, needed help finding and creating a look to attend a formal gala with her husband.  I was like sure no problem.

Considering it was a function celebrating the legal and judiciary profession, I felt neutral colors like black, off white and silver were best.  Since she was on a budget, I suggested we go to the formal dress department at Macy's.  Macy's always has super cute and high quality formal and semi-formal dresses on the clearance rack.  I was sure we could find something there.

With luxe kids and her daughter in tow, I pulled about 50 dresses from the rack that fit the look I wanted to create and went from there.  We finally found the "one", A Jill Stuart classic on sale and after that it was all downhill.  Next we needed to find shoes.  Before a much needed dinner break with the kids, we were walking through the mall and was offered a 30% coupon at Nine West shoes.  Since there was a sale going on, I suggested we start there first. I had to take the elevator down with luxe baby and stroller and passed Nine West shoes.  I spied the perfect shoes to compliment the dress.  Here is a pic:

Lastly, I consulted with Renee on hair, make-up, and accessories.  I suggested either long dangling fierce earrings or a necklace.  She mentioned she had several silver and black cuffs, but she was also interested in wearing a cocktail ring.  I thought either the cocktail or the cuff will do.  I didn't want her to wear too much jewelry to distract from the dress.

Renee originally wanted to get her hair blown out and wear it straight.  However, there was some drama there.  So she opted to go with her natural curly hair and I suggested a mohawk style.  She has worn one before and she is made to wear them.

Make-up was a cinch.  I didn't have to use any foundation on her face, because her skin is truly flawless. Certifiable.  I used Lancome's Declaring Indigo gel eyeliner for a dramatic look.  I used Becca Cosmetics Mazu highlighting cream in the corner of her eyes and on her brow bone.  I also used Becca lip gloss in Mai Tai a sheer peach nude on her lips and a little bit of NARS Lovejoy blush on the apples of her cheek.  She got a mani/pedi with a sheer pink OPI polish.

Results?  She looked like a rock/movie star. Polished but HAUTE!

The only thing I would have done differently was have her carry a red clutch.  I kept meaning to tell her to get one all day, but it just slipped my mind.

What do yall think?  Do I have skillz?

Hello Divas!

I hope you are having a beautiful day!  It is GORGEOUS in Atlanta with clear blue skies. Love it!

Remember when I previously wrote about Becca Cosmetics?  Well I am loving the products and have tons of pics to share of me wearing them.  However, I particularly am in love with the Glossy Lip Tint.  This lip gloss glides on smooth.  The texture is creamy not sticky.  It smells like strawberry parfait .  Plus the shine is super insane.  I just love it! Luxe baby loves it too.

Becca Cosmetics Gloss Lip Tints come in a wide range of colors and have the most adorable names like Bellini, Champagne, Mimosa, Caipirinha, and Amaretto..Yes these glosses are named after the most Diva drinks of all time!  All of which I do love.

The gloss lasts pretty much all day.  I only have to re-apply it once.  Becca Cosmetics lip glosses retail for $23 dollars and can be purchased online here.
