Luxetips Annual Best of (2011) List!

I am slowly working my way back into mainstream.  I have to make an appearance in the office today and of course the luxe kids won't let me be sad.  They are little rays of sunshine.

But I had to appear for my annual "Best of" List for the year 2011.  2011 was a hard year, but there were still some products that rocked my world.  This year instead of doing 12 to coincide with my "12 Days of Luxetips Before Christmas Posts", we are doing 10...( I am a little late).  Check them out!

1. HEXBUGS 

Luxe son and I discovered HEXBUGS at Blogher 2011 in San Diego.  They are tiny robotic creatures that behave like a bug.  These tiny robots scurry about, turn, and flip on their back and back again.  My son loves them.  They also come with a glow in the dark Habitat that allows the Nano to roam freely while performing cool tricks!  Hexbugs are designed to give kids a positive experience with robotics at an early age.  Love it!

2.  Hotel del Coronado Resot, San Diego, CA.

I visited Coronado Island and discovered the Hotel del Coronado Resort and fell in love.  Simply gorgeous!  I am so looking forward to taking the luxe kids back to this wonderful resort.  How can anyone resist a beach front property with tons of shopping, good food, sunny skies, dolphins, and fantastic events?  Lovely.

3.  Effie's Paper.

My style and BAP Icon, Kalyn Johnson is the creator of Effie's Paper.  I love writing thank you notes and personal cards to family and friends.  I keep cute stationary in my kitchen draw.  However, Effie's Paper takes cute to another level.  Effie's Paper is modern, chic and fashionable.  Love them!

4.  GAP 1969 Super Lightweight Legging Jeans.

You Divas know how much I love GAP Always Skinny Jeans.  However, now I have a new obsession, GAP's new super lightweight legging jeans.  They are super light and they fit like a glove.  The best thing I love about these jeans are how comfy they are.  Plus I look HOT in them.  They come in a host of colors.  A must have!

5. Lumene Premium Beauty Skincare line.

Of course Lumene is always a winner in my book.  I recently tried their Premium Beauty skincare line and fell in love.  This line was created for women with mature skin...over 50.  I am not there yet, but I love how it makes me skin glow and look so pretty.  It protects the skin against hyperpigmentation and reduces wrinkles.  You can purchase Lumene at any CVS.

6. Bath and Body Works Paris Amour Body Lotion.

I love Paris Amour!  Now I thought I graduated from Bath and Body Works after college.  However, Paris Amour has become my new obsession.  The scent is fruity and floral with hints of musk.  When I wear the lotion, men stop me in my tracks and compliment my scent or ask me what am I wearing.  Paris Amour is a big winner in 2011...hands down.

7. Lancôme's Trésor Midnight Rose 

A twist on the iconic Tresor fragrance.  It is light but still with a hint of seduction.  


8.  Pulisse Lip Comfort Daily Lip Nourisher.

I first started using this product in 2010 and I still use it.  It is by far the best lip balm I have ever used.  This nourisher keeps my lips baby skin soft.  Pur~lisse Pur~lip comfort is petroleum free and contains Mango Butter, Shea Butter, Rice Bran Oil, Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E lavish moisture.  


9. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 20. 

I love this product! It is lightweight and you can use a little or a lot depending on the amount of coverage needed. Plus it includes SPF20.10. Hunter Boots!I love my Navy Hunter boots! They are great for the rain, ice, snow or simply when I want to keep my feet warm while running errands. I get tons of compliments from women and men alike. Everyone loves them.hunte boots

12 Days of Luxetips Before Christmas! Day Two: Holiday Hair!

How was your day today? I hope wonderful!

Day Two of 12 Days of Luxetips Before Christmas includes hot Holiday hair. I have a ritual I have been following for years that includes a fresh mani/pedi, eyebrow wax, and fresh hair do before Christmas and before New Years! I have to bring in the New Year gorgeous! 12 Days of Luxetips Before Christmas! Day One: Radiant Skin!

I hope you had a fabulous weekend!

I love Christmas! I love decorating, baking cookies with my kids, and Christmas shopping! I love the holidays!

Many bloggers are doing 12 days of Christmas posts and many of my beauty blogging friends are doing 12 days of beauty. Well I thought it would be fun to do 12 days of Luxetips (before Christmas) posts! My theme? Get luxe and fab for Christmas Day!

On Day 1, I recommend achieving radiant and beautiful skin so you can glow, glow, glow on the big day! Here are my luxetips for radiant skin:


1. Give yourself a mini-facial starting this week and next week. My girl, Mischo Beauty, hipped me to weekly mini-facials last summer. I mostly use Lumene products for my weekly mini-facials. My routine is as follows: I use a mild cleanser, toner, Lumene's ARCTIC TOUCH Clarifying Mineral Peeling (makes my skin as smooth as a baby's!), and Lumene's ARCTIC TOUCH Deep Cleansing Peat Mask.

2. I also recommend using a nightly intensive skin cream to reverse aging, clear blemishes, and achieve radiant skin. I have been hearing rave reviews about Avon's ANEW ULTIMATE Night Gold Emulsion cream. Women swear that after only 2 weeks of using this product, their skin is plumper, blemish free, and radiant. I have a jar and I am going to start using it tonight! I can't wait to share the results!

So Divas work on radiant skin for Christmas! We all need to look gorgeous in those Christmas pics!

Christmas Eve! Last Minute Gift Ideas

I hope your Christmas Eve is filled with laughter, joy, and good treats! I know this post is a day late, but yesterday was so hectic. Umm I started my Christmas Shopping yesterday...not by choice, but I have been so busy working I could never get out! But while shopping yesterday, I remembered that as a teenager I always wanted to wait until the very last minute to do my Christmas Shopping. I just loved getting caught up in the last minute frenzy! It truly puts me in the Christmas spirit. Well if you are doing any last minute shopping today, there are tons of luxe but affordable beauty gifts for your Diva friend, sister, mom, aunt, etc! Here are a few I noticed while out yesterday.

1. Cargo Boogie Nights Eye Pencil Set. This eye pencil set gives you a lot of bang for the buck. The set includes 5 pencils shades that are sprinkled with glitter! 2. Carol's Daughter Almond Cookie Body Butter. Carol's Daughter body butters are a MUST HAVE. They are super hydrating, luxe, and smell amazing! The Almond Cookie Body Butter is a cult favorite. Yummy! This product retails for $18 and you can purchase it at Sephora.

3. L'Occitane Lavender Hand Creme. This hand creme is a favorite. I always give it as a gift. The hand creme is so moisturizing. Plus it keeps your hands very soft and it smells like Lavender. Just lovely! This hand creme retails for $10 and you can also purchase it a Sephora.

4. Ped Egg Pro Foot File. I raved about this fabulous foot file here. This is a GREAT GIFT for under $10! You can purchase it at Target.

5. Fold and Tie Jewelry Organizer. I love this jewelry organizer. It is by far the cutest organizer I have every seen. I also love that this jewelry organizer is very compact. It easily slips in your purse. It is only $10.99 at Target.

Of course if you are in a very tight crunch, gift cards are always good. I love to give Sephora and Target gift cards. Divas really do appreciate them! LOL!

I am taking a few days off for the Christmas Holiday but I shall return next week!

Lancome Color Design Sensational Effects Eye Shadow Quad

I hope your weekend was wonderful! This weekend I attended a Christmas Party and I wore a Tuxedo with a low cut dressy tank. I must say I was looking pretty HOT! Well I wanted to try a more dramatic look so I chose a smokey eye using Lancome's Color Design Sensational Effects Eye Shadow Quad. This quad includes Drape, an off white sheen; Click, a dark lavender shimmer; Statuesque, a black intense color; and Makeover, a pretty pink metallic. I received this quad as a gift with purchase and I love it! The eye shadows have great pigment, glide on like silk, and the colors have AMAZING staying power! I usually wear the pink color to add a pop of color to my face. Well Friday night was the first time I tried the smokey eye look. I used Drape all over my lid. I then applied Click in the crease, and I used a Q-tip and lined my upper and lower lash in Statuesque. And it only took 2 minutes! Why? Well Lancome included a step-by-step technique guide which explained in great detail how to create a "Dramatic Look." So for you ladies who are uncertain on how to create a "smokey eye" this step by step guide is perfect. My eyes were gorgeous and I received so many compliments!
