Luxetips Annual Best of (2011) List!

Hello Divas!

I am slowly working my way back into mainstream.  I have to make an appearance in the office today and of course the luxe kids won't let me be sad.  They are little rays of sunshine.

But I had to appear for my annual "Best of" List for the year 2011.  2011 was a hard year, but there were still some products that rocked my world.  This year instead of doing 12 to coincide with my "12 Days of Luxetips Before Christmas Posts", we are doing 10...( I am a little late).  Check them out!

1. HEXBUGS 

Luxe son and I discovered HEXBUGS at Blogher 2011 in San Diego.  They are tiny robotic creatures that behave like a bug.  These tiny robots scurry about, turn, and flip on their back and back again.  My son loves them.  They also come with a glow in the dark Habitat that allows the Nano to roam freely while performing cool tricks!  Hexbugs are designed to give kids a positive experience with robotics at an early age.  Love it!

2.  Hotel del Coronado Resot, San Diego, CA.

I visited Coronado Island and discovered the Hotel del Coronado Resort and fell in love.  Simply gorgeous!  I am so looking forward to taking the luxe kids back to this wonderful resort.  How can anyone resist a beach front property with tons of shopping, good food, sunny skies, dolphins, and fantastic events?  Lovely.

3.  Effie's Paper.

My style and BAP Icon, Kalyn Johnson is the creator of Effie's Paper.  I love writing thank you notes and personal cards to family and friends.  I keep cute stationary in my kitchen draw.  However, Effie's Paper takes cute to another level.  Effie's Paper is modern, chic and fashionable.  Love them!

4.  GAP 1969 Super Lightweight Legging Jeans.

You Divas know how much I love GAP Always Skinny Jeans.  However, now I have a new obsession, GAP's new super lightweight legging jeans.  They are super light and they fit like a glove.  The best thing I love about these jeans are how comfy they are.  Plus I look HOT in them.  They come in a host of colors.  A must have!

5. Lumene Premium Beauty Skincare line.

Of course Lumene is always a winner in my book.  I recently tried their Premium Beauty skincare line and fell in love.  This line was created for women with mature skin...over 50.  I am not there yet, but I love how it makes me skin glow and look so pretty.  It protects the skin against hyperpigmentation and reduces wrinkles.  You can purchase Lumene at any CVS.

6. Bath and Body Works Paris Amour Body Lotion.

I love Paris Amour!  Now I thought I graduated from Bath and Body Works after college.  However, Paris Amour has become my new obsession.  The scent is fruity and floral with hints of musk.  When I wear the lotion, men stop me in my tracks and compliment my scent or ask me what am I wearing.  Paris Amour is a big winner in 2011...hands down.

7. Lancôme's Trésor Midnight Rose 

A twist on the iconic Tresor fragrance.  It is light but still with a hint of seduction.  


8.  Pulisse Lip Comfort Daily Lip Nourisher.

I first started using this product in 2010 and I still use it.  It is by far the best lip balm I have ever used.  This nourisher keeps my lips baby skin soft.  Pur~lisse Pur~lip comfort is petroleum free and contains Mango Butter, Shea Butter, Rice Bran Oil, Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E lavish moisture.  


9. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 20. 

I love this product! It is lightweight and you can use a little or a lot depending on the amount of coverage needed. Plus it includes SPF20.10. Hunter Boots!I love my Navy Hunter boots! They are great for the rain, ice, snow or simply when I want to keep my feet warm while running errands. I get tons of compliments from women and men alike. Everyone loves them.hunte boots

Luxetips Kids! GAP I Want Candy Holiday Collection

GAP recently introduced their new Kids Holiday Collection and it is entitled "I Want Candy."  Cute.  I am a longtime and avid GAP fan, so I had to check it out.  Here are a few pieces I love for the luxe kids!

I just love this ensemble for luxe son.  I especially love the layers this outfit offers.  A reversible hoodie under a sweater and a plaid jacket on top.  Khakis plus a trapper hat and cool kicks, luxe son will be the flyest kid on the playground! LOL!

 Luxe baby is all about the accessories.  She is obsessed with shoes already! Yikes.  These faux fur mittens will be a hit.  She loves the luxe and these are just that.

I love the layers of pink on this tiered ribbon dress.  A simple long sleeved tee underneath is all you need.

This coat is simply classic.  I love the retro mod style.  A must for any little Diva.

Gap calls this cardigan the Luxe Rosetta Cardigan.  How appropriate. This would look great over the tiered ribbon dress.

Effective Discount Shopping: Coupon Deals!

Remember to not worry and stress about life, it all works out in the end.

You guys know I love to engage in discount shopping.  In my opinion it is the only way to shop.  Usually I shop at discount stores such as Off Fifth, Neiman Marcus Last Call, Nordstroms Rack, TJ MAXX, and Ross.  However, a shopaholic can certainly save more money by signing up on their favorite store's email list, to receive coupons via email for even more discounted savings.

I love to shop at Gap for luxe son and luxe baby and I am ALWAYS looking for GAP coupons to get deep discounts on their fashions.  Plus I do love those Always Skinny Jeans.  They are simply fabulous.  GAP always has coupons for free shipping, 30% off and sometimes up to 40% off of one item.  With these kind of deals, I can certainly keep luxe son and luxe baby fashionable without breaking the bank.  I also love receiving coupons from Loehmann's, Banana Republic and of course Macy's, the King of coupon mania!

Coupons are an excellent way to manage your shopping obsession.  I do believe and practice my motto, why pay full price, when you can get it for less?  Remember discount shopping means you can get two items instead of one. Priceless.

Luxetips' Best of 2010 Holiday List!

So just like everyone else, I have a list of beauty and fashion products that rocked my world in 2010.  These are products I have worn out and will forever hold dear to my heart.  These products are so reflective of the Luxetips Lifestyle, that they had to have their very own special highlight!  So here is my Best of 2010 List:

1. Gap 1969 Always Skinny Jeans.   I was gifted these by GAP back in August and they have changed my view of jeans forever.  They are super comfy.  They make my butt look good. Plus the different washes are so stylish and will forever be in style!  More importantly, they are so affordable.  Only $60 and they fit as well as my $200 plus Hudson Jeans. GAP broke the mold with these babies.  I keep going back for more and will have all of the different washes soon! Certifiable.

2. Lancôme’s Définicils Precious Cells Mascara.  To be quite honest, I was a little skeptical about Définicils Precious Cells.  I mean how can you improve on an iconic classic mascara such as Définicils?  But Lancome did.  Precious Cells has changed my view of mascara forever.  The formula is creamy and it truly conditions your lashes.  This mascara gets my lashes long, separated and defined while also making them flexible and soft to the touch.  Plus my lashes seems to get longer and longer.  I could be dreaming, but I doubt it!

3. Clarisonic Plus.  Clarisonic is truly life changing and my face is smooth and I have less blemishes.  The body brush is phenomenal too and has been instrumental in removing layers of discoloration from my knees and the back of my ankles.  If you want smooth, blemish and wrinkle free skin, a Clarisonic is a must!

4. Four Truffles Body Butter.  This body butter is insane!  Love, love, love.  It is rich and creamy, yet non-greasy.  The scent is just amazing!  The ingredients are organic and all products are purchased from women owned cooperatives in Morocco and West Africa and 10% of profits go back to these women to help improve their communities.  Gorgeous for a cause. I love it.

5. Cara B Naturally Hair Care Products.  This all natural hair and skincare line is perfect for luxe baby.  The shampoo and conditioners are super moisturizing and they are not harmful to luxe baby's eyes, skin or hair.  They smell heavenly and I love them. 

6.  Tocca Fragrances.  With names like Brigitte, Stella, Cleopatra, and Bianca, you can't help but love Tocca's line of fine fragrances.  But the wonderful thing about Tocca is that these scents are truly unique and beautiful.  I love Tocca!  I am currently obsessed with Stella which has a strong Blood Orange scent.  What is there not to love??!

7. Fossil Stella Watch.  I was gifted this watch at Blogalicous 2010 and I receive so many compliments.  It is a show stopper and conversation starter.  It is chunky and elegant like a men's watch but with lots of bling! Certifiable.

GAP 1969 Jeans and Perfect Trousers: Comfort and Style

I hope life has been wonderful for you fab people!  I discovered several things this past week. God still performs miracles everyday and choosing to be happy or miserable is a choice!

Well I have returned from Blogher 2010.  It was fabulous and exhausting!  The sessions were awesome.  My session, Mastering Intellectual Property Law on the Internet went very well and we answered so many questions we went over time.  I am glad we could give some Bloggers some insight on this very important topic. Also there were amazing keynotes, hundreds of Bloggers to meet, and plenty of parties! Whew! What a conference!

Before heading to NYC, GAP graciously offered to style me and provide a mini-wardrobe for my Blogher trip.  To say I was floored is an understatement.  See I heavily shopped at GAP in college and law school and always loved the clothes.  They are affordable and of good quality.  As a matter of fact, I still have a pair of GAP flat front stretch Khakis and a GAP polka dot blouse from mid 90s.  Plus I ALWAYS shop at GAP for luxe son's clothes.  The are sturdy for an active elementary aged boy and stylish.  I had just purchased him several pairs of GAP cargo pants and shorts for school.  

So of course, I said yes! Who wouldn't want a complimentary mini-wardrobe with free styling from GAP.

GAP gave me one denim look and one Perfect Trousers look.  GAP is currently promoting their 1969 Jeans and Perfect Trousers pants.  The 1969 Jeans are made with heavy denim with plenty of stretch and they are comfy.  I chose a skinny jeans pair because I love skinny jeans!  My stylist Chad also chose a buttery soft but stylish tee and fitted black blazer to complete the look.  Here is my outfit.

Next Chad found me a pair of City Flats and a City Tote to compliment the outfit.  These sparkly flats had just came in that day and I jumped on them! Love them!  I wore them almost everyday in NYC and they were so comfy.  I highly recommend them.  Plus he found me a cute but functional tote to complete the look.  I actually carried my laptop and all of my essential belongings in this bag from Thursday until Monday and still had plenty of room! I love this bag!

GAP Perfect Trousers are just that Perfect.  They are soft, the fit is right and Chad chose me a blue pinstripe pair.  I guess he figured she is a lawyer and what lawyer does not love a pair of perfect pinstripe slacks.  He paired the trousers with a nice white high neck blouse and I was officially done.  He suggested red platform pumps to complete the look and I thought "that is why he is a stylist."  He just knew what items go together to create a perfect look.

Of course I rocked the City Flats, City Tote and denim outfit at Blogher.  What do you think?
