Luxetips Kids! GAP I Want Candy Holiday Collection

GAP recently introduced their new Kids Holiday Collection and it is entitled "I Want Candy."  Cute.  I am a longtime and avid GAP fan, so I had to check it out.  Here are a few pieces I love for the luxe kids!

I just love this ensemble for luxe son.  I especially love the layers this outfit offers.  A reversible hoodie under a sweater and a plaid jacket on top.  Khakis plus a trapper hat and cool kicks, luxe son will be the flyest kid on the playground! LOL!

 Luxe baby is all about the accessories.  She is obsessed with shoes already! Yikes.  These faux fur mittens will be a hit.  She loves the luxe and these are just that.

I love the layers of pink on this tiered ribbon dress.  A simple long sleeved tee underneath is all you need.

This coat is simply classic.  I love the retro mod style.  A must for any little Diva.

Gap calls this cardigan the Luxe Rosetta Cardigan.  How appropriate. This would look great over the tiered ribbon dress.

Hot Target Find of the Week: Shea Moisture Hair Deep Treatment Masque

I have tried it and it works. PUSH. Pray Until Something Happens.

I had been hearing wonderful things about Shea Moisture brand hair care products for a while before I tried them.  I never had a reason to switch from Miss Jessie's Baby Buttercream because it worked so well with luxe baby's hair.  I was in Target and I kept looking at the price of Shea Moisture at $9.99 and the price of Ms. Jessie's at $32.00.  I figured it is only $10 and if I didn't like it, I knew it would not be a significant financial loss.

Luxe baby's hair was not in good shape due to her intensive swimming lessons this summer.  It was super dry and dull.  I washed her hair and applied Shea Moisture's Deep Treatment Masque to her wet hair.  I combed it through and left it on her hair for a hour.

I noticed immediately her hair was soft and the curls perfectly defined.  This masque is super moisturizing to hair locks and it smells yummy.

After an hour, I intended to wash it out but I loved how healthy, shiny and curly her hair looked.  I read the label and it stated it could also be used as a styling product.  So I left it in and put twists in her hair.  In the morning I took the twists out and her hair was still silky smooth, curly, and very manageable.

After a week, luxe baby's hair was still in the same perfect shape.  This product is incredible and a miracle worker.  I have to say it is by far the best product I have ever used on her hair and it is only $9.99.

Active ingredients of Shea Moisture Deep Hair Treatment are:  organic shea butter, argan oil, sea kelp extract, panthenol, avocado oil, honeysuckle, vitamin E, sage, and carrot seed oil.

Tongue Tied Bag at Lulu's

I have to admit, I am scared of motherhood. Before we get any further, let me say,  I am not pregnant (that's how rumors get started).  But I am slightly concerned with some superficialities such as what type of bag I will have to carry (among other things.) I am always trying to find ways to get out of or prevent style ruts and from what I hear motherhood can create its own set of issues. I am proactive about warding off any potential style rut looming in my horizon. I  plan on being one hot Mama!

 

In search of a  cross body bag to take with me on my trip to Paris, I ran across this bag, which looks like the perfect Mommy bag. It is big, discreet and trendy.  The Tongue Tied has cute gold hardware accents. The best thing about this bag is that it is only 41 bucks!  It's faux leather, but so what, Vegan is where it's at these days. The bottom sides are even reinforced. These manufacturers know that some of you might as well be packing bricks in your bags, they're so heavy.

 

Unfortunately, this one does not come with its own changing flap (or whatever you call it), but it's big enough that you could probably roll one up in there. The purse has two side pockets with magnetic enclosures. Magnets are the best. You don't have to worry about losing anything or fussing with zippers, you just snap and close.  The inside also includes two open pockets and a zippered compartment. The Tongue Tied measures 15" wide by 12" tall with a 17" long handle. Tell me you can't just hear the pitter patter of little feet when you look at it. Hot Find of the Week: Cara B Naturally Hair Care Products

Three weeks ago, I traveled to Charlotte, NC to the Mocha Moms Southeast Regional Conference to give a presentation on "How to Discount Shop for Beauty and Fashion Finds and How to use Social Media for the best deals." During the conference, the Mocha Moms sponsored an intimate vendor hall//area and the vendors were on point!  There were shoe vendors, jewelry vendors, original art vendors and several beauty products vendors.  I was particularly fascinated with the Cara B Naturally Hair Care Products display.  This is a brand new natural hair care line especially formulated for ethnically diverse children and families.  Cara B Naturally products do not include any parabens, petrolatum, phthalates, sulfates, mineral oil, artificial fragrances and preservatives.  My friend Renee, who is a organic enthusiast, was all over this line.  Of course, I had to check it out for luxe baby.  She was out of shampoo and conditioner, so I said why not.

The Cara B Naturally line includes a moisturizing shampoo, leave in conditioner/moisturizer, hair mist, body lotion and soap.  I purchased the shampoo and let my friend Renee be the guinea pig for the conditioner and hair mist.  I am always skeptical of using different moisturizing products on luxe baby's hair, because her hair is so thick and needs mucho moisture.  Light weight products just don't cut it.  However, Renee, has been using the products and loves them.  So I will test them out on luxe baby's hair.  But I do love the shampoo.  It is super moisturizing and lathers with ease.  It leaves luxe baby's hair soft and manageable.  Plus it smells good.  It has a pleasant and soothing chamomile fragrance.  Most importantly, it does not burn her eyes.  I usually use Carol's Daughter Rosemary Mint Shampoo on luxe baby and if it gets in her eyes, it is just a disaster!

Cara B Naturally was founded by two sisters, Landra and Kristi.  They are the absolute sweetest women ever and they are very involved in all aspects of the company.  They were willing to answer very in depth questions about the products and their backgrounds.  Here is a pic of the founders and me in the middle wearing my Donna Rico Dress. Isn't the split neck divine?

I digress.  Kristi has an insane curl pattern and she told me she uses the hair mist on her hair to maintain the curl pattern and keep the frizzies away.  I love her hair!

New Year New Look!

Hello Divas!

How was your Christmas? Mine was great! The best part about this Christmas was watching the luxe kids open all of their gifts and getting everything they wanted. Plus luxe baby screamed WOOOOOW!!! with each gift she opened! Priceless!

As you can see Luxetips has a new look! Yes I finally decided to go with a more luxe and pretty design that is truly a reflection of me. However, I can't take all of the credit. Franki D of Life In A Venti Cup, actually found the image. She is a super FABULOUS designer and apparently knows me well. When she sent me the image, I was like...yep that is me! Love her! I then took the image to Zoe of Chic and Sassy Designs and she added custom features to go with the image. Her addition included luxe baby playing in my purse and trying to put on my makeup, which is so very on point. So cute! She also added little touches such as the shoes, handbag, phone, keys, etc.
