While shopping at the outlets for the kids, I rolled into the Off Fifth Saks outlet just to window shop and came across these:

They were an extra 50% off the clearance price and the leather is like "butta".  Four inches of happiness!

I always shop Off Fifth for deep deep discounts on designer and quality merchandise.

Luxetips Events! Recap of Fashion's Night Out Atlanta

Life is hard, but always try to maintain an attitude of positivity and thankfulness.

Fashion's Night Out in Atlanta was....just okay.  I have to be honest, I did expect a little more planning, festivity, and excitement.  I don't know if people simply did not know about Fashion's Night Out Atlanta or were not interested.  Regardless we could have done much better.  There were no hip parties in the stores, celebrity hosts or sightings, and discounts were minimal at best.  It was eerily quiet at Phipps Plaza and Lenox Mall.

However, there were two events, and I went to "events" at least 10 stores, that did get me in the Fashion's Night Out mood.  Saks, and Neiman Marcus  did live up to FNO expectations.

After visiting a few stores at Phipps Plaza that did nothing for a true Fashion's Night Out experience, my friend Natasha G and I went to Saks to check out their event. Saks did not disappoint! They had several types of cocktails, nibbles, and offered guests a chance to dress in select Saks accesory merchandise to take professional red ( in this case beige) carpet photos! Nice!

They were also selling official FNO merchandise and they had a wonderful DJ in the shoe section.  Cosmetics counters such as NARS and Chanel had great discounts and deals.  Chanel had a nail bar set up and with the purchase of a Chanel nail polish, guests received FREE manicures.  We were one of the firsts in line and by the time we were done, there was a long line of folks waiting for manicures. Now that is what I am talking about.

After hanging out at Saks for the majority of our time, we drove over to Lenox Square Mall to check out Neiman Marcus.  Neiman Marcus also had a hip and happening partay going on!  They had a great DJ, a candy bar, gourmet cookies, and a bar with champagne, wine, and Sweetwater beer.  Sweetwater is an Atlanta brewing company and a staple in Atlanta.  They also had some great discounts on merchandise, lots of FNO merchandise and a similar red carpet photo op as Saks.

Look at the lovely African-American mannequin at Neiman Marcus. Fabulous.

I hope Fashion's Night Out Atlanta will be bigger and better next year.  It was a decent time, but we should do better.

Sale Time! Get Your Staples!

Lately I have been receiving tons of emails advertising sales at some of my favorite luxe stores.  The beginning of the New Year is always the time to get luxe items at deep discounts.  Currently, Nordstroms, Saks, Loehmanns are having FANTASTIC sales on high quality jeans, dresses, and shoes.  Here are some of my lust items:

Helene Berman Floral Sheath Dress. Stunning. Just Stunning.  I always recommend that every Diva own a classic black Sheath Dress.  However, this Sheath with its artistic floral print is classic but so beautiful.  The hot pink, white, and black colors stand out and make this dress a winner.  It is definitely a "go to" item when in a crunch! Love it! This dress originally retailed for $218.  It is now selling for $129!

Stuart Weitzman Crisscross Platform Pump.  This pump is insane and only $166.  It is a Croc and Ostrich embossed leather platform pump with a stacked heel. A shoe like this by any other brand would cost you a cool $750 plus! This is a steal! This pump originally retailed for $355. As you Divas know, I am a Stuart Weitzman fan. I love his pumps! You get the same quality as Manolo or Jimmy Choo for half the cost! Love it! 

Jimmy Choo Peony Tall Leather Boots.  These boots are at Saks and are only $385! So attainable.  They originally retailed for $965! That is almost 70% off! Wowza!  

J Brand, Rag & Bone, and and 7 For All Mankind select styles are also selling for 50% off at Saks.

Fun Fridays! Meet Twilight Star Ashley Greene this Saturday!

I hope all is well! I am happy that it is Friday, but it is overcast and chilly. Sunshine please come back!

I absolutely love that store. It is gorgeous! DonateMyDress.org is an organization that provides gently-used prom or special occasion dresses for young women who otherwise would not be able to afford one. You know I am a sucker for community service and helping young girls and women, so please donate to this organization. I am back! I needed that holiday break! I hope your holiday was fantastic! Well of course I could not wait for the After-Christmas sales and boy was it ever worth the wait! I mean it is bananas! Every store is having a 50%-75% off sale. Some stores are having a sale on EVERYTHING! If you don't have a strategy when shopping these sales you can really go ballistic! But of course I went in with a strategy and stuck to it. I basically made a list of certain staple items that I needed to balance out my wardrobe. My logic is this: during this economic downturn when stores are literally giving away items, stock up on quality or luxury staple items that will stand the test of time.
