Hot Ulta Find of the Week: OPI Nail Polish: Pink of Hearts for Breast Cancer Awareness

I love OPI nail polishes.  They always have funky names and the colors are gorgeous!  So when I discovered last October OPI re-introduced their annual Pink of Hearts nail polish in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness, I was all for it.  I particularly love the pink ribbon packaging.  Cute!

I was gifted this nail polish at a conference.  I can't remember which one, but what a great gift.  But you can't beat gorgeous pink nails for a cause!

Essie Nail Color Winter Collection: Fierce!

Sometimes I wake up in the morning and I just want to lay in bed all day, but then I think about the Nike commercial and I tell myself, Just Do It!

Day 20 is all about nail color.  I love nail color and these Essie Collections are fierce!

If you are anything like me, a box of Crayola containing 24 crayons was simply not enough. You had to have the box with 96, or 112 or whatever the max number of crayons were for that school year. You probably even justified the purchase as "educational " (one of my choice terms.)  I would ask my Mother, "Why, would you not want me to know all of the colors that exist."  God forbid you should find out about Pantone paint chips, but really why shouldn't you know all the colors? Obviously, I am a somewhat sensual creature who lives in color.  It is one of the greatest gifts of self expression. I can not imagine how I went so long with nude toes.

Hot Ulta Find of the Week: Mizani Humidity Resistant Mist

How is your week going?  I hope fantabulous!  Be thankful and focus on one day at a time!

Those of us that live in the South and the East Coast have been experiencing an unbelievable heat wave.  100 plus degree weather is almost an everyday occurrence.  So you can imagine the toll this heat and humidity is taking on our hair.  Basically, I get up in the morning and style my hair, but by the time I hit the door and drop my kids off to camp, the pretty curls and style has deflated and my hair just looks like a drab mess.

Well I have found the secret weapon against humidity...Mizani's Humidity Resistant Mist.  Divas I promise you this product is the business!  As the can describes, "this product provides a light flexible hold to styles while helping to shield the hair from moisture caused by high humidity situations."  And I promise you it does just that.  This weekend I gave this product a whirl and it kept my Farrah Fawcett waves in place.  In addition, my hair did not sink under the extreme humidity.  All day long, I had bouncing and behaving shiny hair.  More importantly, I could still run my fingers through my hair and comb it with no problem.  This mist does not create a sticky or hard feel.  It is simply perfect for the Summer months.  I don't leave home without it. LOL!  It is for all hair types so regardless if you have fine hair, chemically processed hair, or natural hair, this product works for everyone.

I have been using the serum and moisturizer for a week and a half and thus far I am pretty impressed with the results I have received. My favorite product in this line, hands down, is the serum. It is fantastic! I use it every night and morning and my skin is firmer and smoother. Also after applying the serum at night and waking up in the morning, my face looks well rested and relaxed. I apply the serum alone at night and I apply it under the Lumene Vitamin C Day Cream with SPF 15 (SPF 15 is a must!) in the morning. The serum quickly absorbs into my skin and I only need a few drops to cover my face and neck. What I love most about Lumene products and especially this serum is that it does not break out my skin. I have super sensitive skin and I try many products and 50% of them will break me out. I can TRULY say that Lumene products have never caused one blemish on my skin. (Knock on wood) In my book this is huge!

The Excellnet Future Deep Repairing Cream is very thick, so you only need a small amount to moisturize your face. I only use it sparingly and not every night. The Day Cream with SPF 15 works better for me.

Alterna Hemp Organics Straightening Balm: Heat Protectant and Blow-Out Maintenance in One!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend! The weather in Atlanta was beautiful and gorgeous!

Divas I have been using a new product on my hair that I am madly madly in love with. It is Alterna's Hemp Organics Straightening Balm. My good friend Natasha turned me on to this product when I showed up at her house and my hair was a big cloud of pouf! Georgia humidity! I had my flat iron to straighten it out and she suggested that I use the Straightening Balm to maintain the straight look. Of course, I gave it a try. After 7 hours out on the town, my flat-ironed hair looked as good as new! It was still sleek and shiny. No pouffy hair! No kidding. Now I have been using this product every time I flat-iron my hair.

First this product is super lightweight. It does not weigh down your hair. It actually feels like a facial primer. In addition, you only have to use a tiny bit of the product to coat your hair. I just take a quarter size amount in my palm and run it through my hair. This amount is more than enough. I then run the flat iron through small sections of my hair. This product makes my hair straight but also light and full of body! But the genius of this product is that it is also a heat protectant. So while this product is straightening my hair, it is also protecting my hair from heat damage. Boy I love a two for one deal!

Alterna Organics are enriched with Certified Organic Botanicals to strengthen your hair and infuse it with nutrients that prevent damage. Nice!

Hot Drugstore Find of the Week: Lumene Blueberry Curl Mascara

I hope your life is simply fabulous! I am learning to appreciate all of life's pleasures regardless if they are simple or grand! Life is beautiful!

I previously blogged that Lumene Skincare has a fan page on Facebook. When they initially set up the page, they had a contest and I was one of 15 people who won! We received $50 worth of Lumene Skincare products. I am already a fan of their skincare products. Since I have been using them, my skin's tone has improved and it is definitely more radiant. Well in the package they sent me a tube of their Blueberry Curl Mascara. I have never used their cosmetics, so I was excited to try out the Mascara.

First I must say that I love the packaging. The mascara tube is navy blue with a really cool shaped top! This Mascara claims to curl your lashes, build your lashes, not produce clumps, and nourish your lashes with Artic Blueberry. Did this Mascara live up to the hype? Well let's see!

The brush on this Mascara definitely curls your lashes! The brush is plastic and very flexible. However the shape of the brush is what really curls your lashes. It is narrow on both ends but wide and flat in the middle. When I was using the Mascara, my lashes were curling with each stroke. Now that is genius! Also the Mascara will separate and lenghten your lashes. I was pretty impressed with the amount of length I achieved. The formula is pretty light too, which I really liked.

However, the Mascara did clump a bit. After applying a second coat of Mascara, I noticed that the Mascara begin to clump on my outer lashes. As I tried to apply a 3rd coat it continued to clump. So I was not happy with the clumps. Does it nourish your lashes? I am not sure. I do know that Artic Blueberry is a key ingredient in a lot of Lumene's skincare products, and like I said, I love their skincare. My skin has definitely improved for the better.

But besides that I really liked the Mascara. If you have straight lashes or short lashes and want instant curl, length, and separation, I would definitely buy this Mascara. I have used other Mascaras that claim to curl and they did not. This one lives up to the hype! This Mascara retails for $9.99 and you can purchase it at CVS or Ulta.

I hope your weekend was relaxing! Guess what I did over the weekend? Shopping for beauty products of course. I went to Ulta for the first time. Can you believe it??!! I am such a beauty junkie, but I am a loyalist at heart. So Sephora has always been the end all to be all for me. But I had to go to Ulta to get OPI's La Collection de France nail polish. Umm I really really like Ulta, but I will save my fascination with Ulta for another post. Right now, I have to tell you ladies about OPI's Cafe Cuties.
