I have been going to a new salon.  No, I didn't leave my stylist.  She and all of the other stylists from my old salon have moved and joined the new and fabulous So Kai salon.  Master stylist and owner of So Kai, Sophia Johnson, has opened a new uber cool and swanky establishment located in the heart of East Atlanta Village.

So Kai offer an array of hair services.  They specialize in natural hair styles such as locs, twists, and curly styles; straight styles such as blow outs, pressing and perms; exceptional color services; and extensions.

But what makes So Kai salon unique is that they also offer other beauty pampering services.  They have a full service wellness spa that provides facials, massages, ionic foot baths, and colonics.  Plus there is a full service beauty bar where you can get make up applications, threading, and lash application.  So Kai Salon is a true beauty retreat you can visit right here in the heart of Intown Atlanta, without having to travel to get there.  Fantabulous!

Day 14: The Perricone Presciption

Ever since reading the "Perricone Prescription" six years ago, I have been aware of  the role inflammation plays in aging. While I have had some trouble cutting back on those sugars, I have been experimenting with products that help prevent and erase the damage I have done. I also want to try the Super Hand & Cuticle Cream with Yogurt. The cream claims to heal and soften hands and cuticle by stimulating collagen production with yogurt probiotics. If you are not familiar with probiotics you should be! It is no secret that some of the worlds most beautiful queens, for instance Cleopatra, bathed themselves in milk. Why?  The bacteria of course. This is probably the best time of year to indulge your hands, and I trust that Dr. Perricone has engaged in a thorough study making his products most effective. $30.00 for a 2 oz serving.

Finally, I plan on indulging my soup coolers with the Super Lush Lips with Coconut Oil .  Yummy! The name alone makes me want to wear it.  But the delectable coconut oil  it contains is a huge source of vitamin E.  Vitamin E plays an important role in healing, and the Super Lush Lips purports to "nourish, quench, and shine lips."  $20.00 for a 0.5 oz serving.

All products are free of parabens, phthalates, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes and petrochemicals. I know the prices seem steep but trust me, a little goes a long way with the Perricone products. It doesn't take much to save your skin; and besides, you are an investment! Polished Beauty Lounge: Affordable Luxe!

I hope your weekend was truly wonderful! It was a bit rainy in Atlanta, but I did get an opportunity to sleep and pamper myself a wee bit.

Yesterday, a bunch of my friends gathered at Polished Beauty Lounge to get manis/pedis and celebrate my friend Christin's impending birth.  I have been to Polished several times and I just love love this nail salon.  What I love most is the sanitary bowls, decor, and great customer service!

 

This place is so cute right?  The salon offers manicure and pedicure services; facials; and hair removal services.  There are also tons of cute accessories for purchase.  These accessories include funky jewelry, special undergarments, and foot petals!  The staff is super friendly and efficient.  I have had their basic pedicure, the Stylish ($24) and the Barefoot at the Beach to Island Goddess pedicure.  Both are great, but the Barefoot at the Beach to Island Goddess Pedicure is heavenly.  It includes a papaya healing exfoliation scrub or lavender soothing sea salt scrub.  This is followed by a rejuvenating mineral mask for the feet and moisturizing peach paraffin for the hands.  It is finished off with hot towels and a relaxing massage. It is only $35 and worth every penny!

Hot Drugstore Find of the Week: Lumene Time Freeze Instant Lift Serum

I hope you are having a fabulous day! Believe it or not, it is 15 degrees in Atlanta. Wow! As you know, I have been using Lumene products for 6 weeks now and I love them! As part of my weekly mini-facial routine, I use Lumene's Time Freeze Instant Lift Serum for an intense facial treatment. As described by Lumene, this Serum is like a face lift in a bottle. It temporarily decreases wrinkles, plumps your skin and gives your face a healthy glow. Does it live up to the hype? In my opinion yes! The Serum is very light weight, so it does not clog my pores. It does give my face a nice healthy glow. In addition, my frown lines do seem less pronounced. Now this Serum is not a cure all to wrinkles or sagging skin. Your Questions: My Mini-Facial Routine

I hope your day is wonderful! Because you Divas want to know, today I am going to share my mini-facial routine. However, I am just following the fabulous suggestion of Mischo Beauty. I have incorporated a weekly mini-facial into my skincare routine, and I am very pleased. My skin is definitely firmer, smoother, and my skin tone is more even. Now I am using Lumene skincare, but you can use your choice of skincare products. So here goes:

First I fill my bathroom sink with steaming hot water. I place my face over the sink so my face can soak up the steam.

Next, I cleanse my face with Lumene Matt Touch Balancing cleansing gel. I rinse my face with cold water.

Next, I use Lumene Artic Touch Clarifying Facial Scrub. I use the product for 2-3 minutes. I love this! I rinse my face and then I gently pat it dry.

I then apply Lumene Artic Touch Deep Cleansing Peat Mask. I let this mask sit on my face for 10 minutes. I rinse this mask off with a warm water and I gently pat my face dry.

I then use Clean and Clear Astringent for sensitive skin. This removes any excess mask from my face.

Lastly, I apply Lumene Time Freeze Instant Lift Serum. This Serum is great! It does make my skin more radiant.

After giving myself this mini-facial, my skin looks and feels awesome!
