Karina Smirnoff Is Engaged!

'Dancing With the Stars' Karina Smirnoff will be hearing wedding bells  as she is now engaged to   boyfriend/baseball player Brad Penny.

Karina revealed that Brad popped the question on October 4th.
"We kept it quiet because my family is in New York and Brad's family is in Oklahoma so we kind of wanted them to come out and celebrate and be a family first before we let the cat out of the bag."
Calling the proposal "a conspiracy", it was orchestrated by her manager and Penny. Her manager told her the president of Twitter wanted to meet her after a taping of Dancing With the Stars.
"We went to this restaurant and [my manager] got on her phone and said 'this guy is killing me,' and got up and walked away, Then Brad walked in and it still didn't register. He got down on one knee and he opened the box and I said, 'Thank you'. I honestly didn't expect it."
Karina showed off her 4.5 carat Asscher Cut diamond engagement ring at the 5-year anniversary party of Tao in Las Vegas.

Penny was absent at the Tao event but he sent her a hand-written note in a fortune cookie apologizing for his absence – the cookie also contained an Everlon diamond necklace.

They began dating in 2009, after Smirnoff and DWTS member Maksim Chmerkovskiy called off their engagement.
