Lancome Color Design Mattes and Creme Brillance Lip

Hello Divas!

How was your weekend?  I hope fabulous!  It was sunny on Saturday and rainy on Sunday. Gotta love this spring weather.

I previously blogged about Lancome new Color Design Matte Lipsticks and I was super eager to try them.  The good people at Lancome sent me out a couple of tubes to test.  They sent me Bronze Show, a brownish matte color and Stylista, a pink matte.  Lancome also sent me a tube of L'Absolu Creme De Brillance, which is a lip cream that is a cross between a lip balm and a lip gloss.  I received a tube in the color Rose Mythique, kind of a hot pinkish red color.  Check out the swatches:

Pros:  The Mattes are absolutely amazing. They are rich and creamy but look like a dry matte.  I don't know how they did it, but it is simply innovative.

Cons:  However, both the Bronze Show and the Stylista color look horrible on me.  I have a medium dark skin tone and as you can see from the pics, the Bronze Show is too brown and the Stylista is too pink.  However these colors would look AMAZING on Divas with fairer skin tones.  The collection does contain a true red and I would like to see how it will look on me.  Going to hit up Macy's this weekend! Yes this collection is available exclusively at Macy's.

Also I tested out the L'Absolu Creme De Brillance Lip Cream.  It is formulated with Pro-Xylane Concentrated and it claims to visibly replenish lips.  The texture is super creamy and it does have the feel of a very hydrating lip balm.  And it is super shiny like a lip gloss. But once again, I found that the color did not work with my skin tone at all.  But it would look great on a person with an olive or fair skin tone.  However, there are other colors in the line that I think would look great on me.

All in all I think the products are super, but I just need to find the right shade! LOL!  Have you tried any of Lancome's new lip products?

Hot Drugstore Find of the Week: Maybelline ColorSensation Barely There Nude Lipstick!

Hello Divas!

It is a gorgeous day in Atlanta!  I love it!  I hope you guys are having the best day ever!

You guys know how much I have raved about Maybelline's ColorSenational line of lip glosses and lipsticks! I love them!  Recently, I have been rocking the perfect nude lipstick, Nearly There, and it is just wonderful.  My skin tone is medium dark and sometimes it is hard for me to find the right nude to match my skin tone.  Some are too beige and some are just too dark.  Well Maybelline got it right with this nude.  It is a beige pink nude and it works!  The pink is slightly darker and mixes well with the beige.  It provides the right coverage for women with dark skin tones.  I have been wearing it with my trusty MAC Chesnut lip pencil and I get tons of compliments! And of course, the $5.99 price tag does not hurt either.

Here is a pic!  Trying to work with my I-Phone until I get a new camera. LOL!  Maybelline ColorSensational lipsticks are under $6 and you can purchase them online here at CVS.

Liberty of London: No Shirt Dress, But Cute Journals!

Hello Divas!

I hope you had a fab weekend!  On Friday I received tons of good news and not so good news, but I figured it all balanced out!  Gotta love life!

Friday was such a GORGEOUS day in Atlanta so I was in the shopping mood.  I went to Target in search of Liberty of London wear, because the clothes are made for beautiful sunny days! There are some adorable dresses in the line, but I wanted the oh so fab Liberty of London Shirt Dress that I hear is already selling like hot cakes on Ebay. Yikes!

Of course I checked three Targets and there was not a Liberty of London shirt dress in sight. Bummer!  But I did pick up these adorable Liberty of London mini journals.

How cute are they?? I love them!  They come in a set of three in various colors and patterns.  I chose this pink set.  So feminine and pretty!  They easily fit inside my bag and I love the ability to jot down ideas and notes on the go.  Especially when I am brainstorming to write!  These journals were only $6.99!  But hurry to your nearest Target, because the Liberty of London items are selling out fast!

Luxe Lipstick: New Lancome Color Design Matte Lipstick!

Hello Divas!

I hope you are looking and feeling beautiful!

Well my favorite luxe beauty brand, Lancome, has created a new Matte lipstick that is innovative and gorgeous!  Color Design Matte Lipstick is Lancome's new Matte formula that has a Matte look but not feel.  It has a "light-diffusing gel" formula.  Genius!

Lancome claims this lipstick is long wearing while keeping your lips moisturized.  But what I love are the colors! They are classic and there is a color to match any skin tone.  Lancome's Color Design Matte Lipstick comes in 8 beautiful shades.  The lipstick retails at $22 and is available exclusively at Macy's and will be available next week at lancome-usa.com.

Target Merona Rain Boots!

Hello Divas!

I hope you are living life to the fullest!

If you follow me on Twitter, you know that I recently purchased some new rain boots from Target.  To be honest, I never felt the need to purchase rain boots because it never really rained that much in Atlanta.  However, lately it has been raining cats and dogs.  We just finished a three day stretch of constant rain! So I ventured to my favorite store, Target, to find some cute and affordable rain boots.  Of course Target did not disappoint.  I wanted pink rain boots, so luxe baby and I could look alike, but they did not feet my leg correctly.  So I found these Zaki Houndstooth Rain Boots and they are perfect.

They are so fab!  I have received so many compliments.  People love him!  They were only $24.99! Woot!  Target has Merona rain boots in a range of cute and funky designs.

And check out the diva luxe baby's rain boots! She wears then every way.  I purchased them from Carter's.  Adorable.

Hot Drugstore Find of the Week: Revlon Photo Ready Foundation

Hello Divas!

I hope your Wednesday is fantabulous!

As you recall, I purchased Revlon's Photo Ready Foundation a couple of weeks ago because I heard it gives you a flawless finish.  I have been using it since then and it has its pros and cons.

First the pros:  This foundation is so lightweight, it does not feel like I am wearing anything.  It does have a "photo ready" finish.  If blended well, your skin will achieve that airbrushed look.  More importantly, this foundation does not break me out!  A plus here! I am extremely careful about what I put on my face and this foundation does keep me blemish free.

Cons:  I find that I have to use a lot of the product to cover deep blemishes.  When comparing this foundation to my Black Opal Stick Foundation that covers every blemish, Revlon Photo Ready does not provide deep coverage.  So if you have skin with minimal blemishes, Revlon's Photo Ready Foundation is perfect!

You can purchase Revlon's Photo Ready Foundation at CVS or online here.

Have you tried Revlon's Photo Ready Foundation?

Luxe Exhibit: Diana: A Celebration!

Hello Divas!

I hope you had a beautiful weekend!  It was finally in the 70s in Atlanta! Whoohoo!

Saturday I had an AMAZING opportunity to view the Princess Diana: A Celebration Exhibit at the Atlanta Civic Center.  Creaxion Marketing and Media, provided several Atlanta Bloggers with Tickets to this must see event.  Of course, because I am a Diva and love all things luxe, I jumped at the chance to view it.

The first thing that greeted me as I entered the Exhibit was Diana's personal and family jewels.  All I have to say is Wowza!  I have never seen that many diamonds up close.  It was staggering.  The exhibit includes two of Diana's Tiaras, including the one she wore on her wedding day.  These Tiaras had hundreds of diamonds! There was also Diana's family ancestral diamonds dating as far back as the 1300 hundreds! There was one diamond necklace that included about 40 2.0 carat diamonds and 2 huge 9-10 carat diamond teardrops. Stunning!

The Exhibit then traced Diana's ancestral history.  The Exhibit features the Althorp Estate, which is the 500 year family estate of Diana's family.   The Exhibit then features childhood video footage, photos, and childhood mementoes of Diana.  Diana was an extremely cute and fashionable baby and child. Simply adorable!  I also saw letters Diana wrote as a child and her report card.

The exhibit also features Diana's time as a young adult in London.  She purchased a flat with money from her trust and worked as a kindergarten teacher assistant, cleaning lady, and nanny.  Surprisingly I discovered that Diana's older sister first dated Prince Charles and when she married Charles she was 19 and he was 32!

Next the Exhibit features Diana's wedding to Prince Charles.  It includes her wedding gown, wedding shoes (made from pearls), purse and parasol. It also includes a flower girl dress.  There is also video footage and photos of the wedding.  Diana looked so happy on that day!  I remember watching it as a little girl and I so wanted to be in that carriage! That wedding is still breathtaking!

The Exhibit then takes on a somber note as it details Diana's untimely death and funeral.  I tell you this part of the exhibit is a tear jerker.  There were many watery eyes during this presentation.  It featured Diana's funeral, condolences books (hundreds from around the world); Elton John singing Candle in the Wind and other mementoes.  Diana is buried on an island in the middle of a lake on her family's estate.  It is so beautiful and peaceful.  A perfect resting place for a Princess.

Gladly, the Exhibit ends on a high note!  The last portion features Diana's charity work.  She supported hundreds of charities and frequently made private visits and calls to those she visited.  She also privately supported many individuals through time and resources for years after her initial visits.  The ending also features 25 of Diana's most memorable gowns.  Diana was tall and slim and I believe a perfect size 4.  She was such a stunning woman!  Plus from all of the photos and video footage I saw, very full of life and always smiling or laughing.  I love that.

Diana: A Celebration will run until June 13 at the Atlanta Civic Center.  It will then be flown by Delta Cargo back to Althorp Estate in England.  Tickets are $47 but well worth it.  I have also included a $3 off coupon for this Exhibit below.

Enjoy!

K-la Boutique Stylish Clothes and Funky Accessories

Hello Divas!

My message today:  Always try to maintain a positive attitude even when the Drama gets you down! LOL!

In December, I ventured out to K-la Boutique to check out the new store in Phipps Plaza here in Atlanta.  I had never been there before, but I am glad I went.  This boutique has the CUTEST accessories and clothing at super affordable prices.  Most items are sold between $25 and $75! Believe me you can purchase a funky dress and accessories for under $100!  I love this store.  Check out some of the cool items I discovered.

I love gray and black, so naturally I gravitated to these wonderful dresses.  The gray jersey dress on the left is so cool for a nice champagne brunch or lounge.  The silver and gray dress is perfect for a semi-formal event or a cool night on the town.  Both dresses were under $75! Wowza!

However, I was particularly fascinated by the Jewelry case! Yummy!

In fact I loved the jewelry so much that I had to purchase an item for myself. Big and beautiful Cocktail Ring! It was only $25! You can't beat that!  Everyone should have a fab Cocktail Ring!

K-La Boutique is located in Phipps Plaza and Atlantic Station in Atlanta.

Hello Divas!

I hope you are having a beautiful week!  It snowed ...again in Atlanta.  I don't know how I feel about that, but the luxe kids love it!

If you read my Monday post, you will remember I was able to pick up a lip gloss and lipstick from Maybelline's ColorSensational Line for only $5 each.  Well I AM IN LOVE with the ColorSensational lip gloss.  I chose a pretty pink color called Born With It and it is simply gorgeous on my lips.  Check it out!

This lip gloss is shiny but not sticky.  It has a very creamy texture to it.  It also has a wonderful bubble gum scent!  More importantly, this pink color is great for brown skin.  However, this color is so versatile, it will look Amazing on any skin tone. Fabulous!

Maybelline's ColorSensational Lip glosses come in a beautiful range of colors and they are super affordable. Gotta love it!   You can purchase them at CVS or Wal-Mart.

My Wal-Mart Haul: Revlon and Maybelline!

Hello Divas!

I hope all is well!  I hope life is treating you fabulously!

This weekend I had to venture out to Wal-Mart to get some items that I could only find at Wal-Mart.  Now if you know me, I can not stand Wal-Mart. Really I can't, but the one thing I love about Wal-Mart is the beauty aisle.  They have all of my favorite drugstore beauty brands at Amazing Prices!  For instance, I saw a Maybelline ad of Jessica White and she was wearing this fabulous pinkish nude lipstick called Nearly There from Maybelline's ColorSensational line. It is so gorgeous!  So while in Wal-Mart I found the lipstick and do you know it was only $5! Yep $5! In CVS and Walgreens they are selling the same lipstick for $6.99.  That is a $2 savings!  So I also picked up a ColorSensational lipgloss in Born With It.  Love it!

Maybelline Nearly There Lipstick.
Maybelline's Born With It Lipgloss.

I ventured to the Revlon section to check out the cost of Revlon's PhotoReady Foundation.  It was only $11.49.  CVS was selling it on sale with a CVS card for $12.  More savings.  I purchased the Cappucino color and it is a perfect match.  This foundation is all the rage and I just had to try it!  I will let you guys know how it turns out!

Do you shop at Wal-Mart for beauty products?  Let me know!
