Secret of the Islands Sea Salt Scrub

Well Divas I think I found the best body scrub ever.  Whenever we go to Hilton Head we always have dinner at The Crazy Crab.  The Crazy Crab has the best seafood and the crabs are just AMAZING.  In the bathroom there was this wonderful scrub for hand washing.  I thought that was interesting.  I had never seen a scrub in a restaurant bathroom.  Well this scrub was just sublime.  It felt amazing on my hands and it smelled so yummy!  Of course, I was intrigued and I had to inquire about the scrub.

Well lucky me, the Crazy Crab sells the scrub at the restaurant.  Smart marketing.  The scrub is manufactured by Secret of the Islands and it is a sea salt scrub.  It is formulated with natural sea salt and all natural oils.  It has coconut oils and other Bahamian oils and there are no chemicals added!

All I have to say is that is feels so good on your skin.  I used it with my loofah and the exfoliation is perfect.  I love sea salt scrubs because they really remove layers and layers of dead skin.  Also, it is super super moisturizing.  It removes dead skin but also leaves your skin so silky smooth.  Plus it just smells good.  The smell is a mixture of coconut oil and exotic flowers (that I can't name) but the point is, you will smell so delish!

My Paris Packing List : Lotta flat, Matt and Nat Plush Ritual and Fun Spring Dresses from Modcloth

 leave for Paris is less than one month! Gosh times flies. This trip has been on the back burner for a couple of years now, and I finally get to go. I have been trying to decide how to pack. At first we were supposed to go during Easter, which would have been a much cooler trip than the mid May trip for which we are now scheduled. I do not know how to pack because I am trying to make sure I have enough room to bring back some goodies. There are a couple of things though, that I believe are necessary: a pair of cool flat shoes, spring dresses, and a cross body bag with a long strap.  

 

I told you about  the new Leifsdottir  line of shoes that debuted two months ago.  The four pairs I mentioned are all on my wish list which includes, the Lotta Flat, the Brazilian made buttery ballet flat with a flirty ankle strap. There is one spring dress in particular that I think is so Parisian. The All Along the Lines Dress is a strapless mini, multi-tiered cream dress with blue, red and pink stripes. It contains a sash and a cut fold over seam that folds down against the bodice. It is 100% viscose with a polyester lining. The cross body bag of which I am in search needs to have depth and width so I can stash some souvenirs while I am tramping through St. Germain-des-Pres. The bag should be something kind of sexy and not too practical, but nothing to big and audacious that might signal tourist. I found the Matt and Nat Plush Ritual. It is marketed to carry personal laptops, so you can imagine how deep and wide it is. I hope life has been treating you well! Remember always be thankful even when things are not perfect.

Well I have been traveling and it was a whirlwind trip.  I went to Blogalicious Weekend in Miami Beach and the conference was choc full of wonderful information and fun.  More about that later.  Miami was absolutely gorgeous. Clear blue skies and nice and breezy weather.

Well I finally was able to test out my new blue Clarisonic Mia on this trip.  Yes, remember when I won this jewel via a Clarisonic Twitter contest? Cool right?

Well the Mia is he PERFECT travel companion.  It is super lightweight, so I had no problem packing it in my beauty case.  It comes with a very light and small charger. I am an excellent packer, so I love when things travel well!

But more importantly, despite its small size, the Mia cleans just as well as the Clarisonic Plus.  Now the Mia does not allow you to adjust speeds or prompts you when it is time to move to another area of the face like the Clarisonic Plus, but the Mia's set speed is perfect.  It has just enough pressure to get the job done.  Plus it automatically shuts off after one minute.  So I just spend about 20 seconds on each area of the face.

Luxe travel: How to pack for a quick weekend getaway!

I hope all is wonderful in your world. I am doing fantastic! Well this weekend, I was scheduled to take a quick weekend trip to New Orleans with my sister. But it was derailed. First she had drama with her rental. But we obtained a car and alas my nephew broke his leg in 3 places playing tackle football with his friends. Go figure. This trip was just not meant to be. Hey, we can always go another weekend. But I did pack my little weekend bag for this trip. My rule is to "travel light and still live the luxe life!" This means I only take one carry-on or one bag regardless of where I am going. How do I do it? Well take a look:

1. I always pack several dresses when taking a trip. I love dresses that are made of wrinkle free material like jersey and some polyester blends. Plus dresses are so easy to pack. You can simply roll them up very tightly...they take up minimal space. I purchased this wrap dress and shift dress from Target on sale! Love Target!

2. My next rule is to always pack a pair of jeans and/or slacks..depending on the nature of the trip. It may rain or be a little chilly. So jeans are a must! I packed my favorite Hudson Jeans. I love Hudson Jeans...I tell ya they are so comfortable you can sleep in them.

3. I love to pack a crisp white shirt. I can wear it with jeans, slacks or shorts. In addition, I also pack a nice casual shirt for sight seeing or for casual events. I love love my Ralph Lauren pink fitted polo shirt for casual events.

4. One pair of shorts is a must also. I love these green Bermuda shorts I purchased from Old Navy. I can dress these up or down.

5. Shoes and Accessories. I pack 2-3 pairs of shoes that can go with a multitude of outfits. As you can see my bronze pumps, brown pumps, or gold flats can go with any outfit. If I am going out, I can wear the pumps or if I want to wear flats the sandles are cute enough to wear to a restaurant or simply walking. Also my gold belt (so cute!) can be worn with my jeans, shorts, or dress.

6. Jewelry. Once again, I choose jewelry can that can compliment a multitude of outfits. As you can see, neutral but funky jewelry is the way to go! The orange necklace is great for a nice punch of color!

7. Beauty Products. I only take the essentials. These are the products I am currently using: Lancome Genefique Serum, Lumene Day Cream with SPF 15, Clean and Clear Astringent, Neutrogena Extra Gentle Cleanser, Dior HydraAction Eyecream with SPF 20, RX for Brown Skin Naturally Flawless Skin Brightener (for hyperpigmentation), Johnson's Body Care Be Radiant Cocoa & Shea Butter Lotion.

8. I also minimize all of my beauty products and place them in these 4 oz. containers. You can purchase these from CVS.

9. I only take essential make-up to save space. The Lancome Eye Palette in Safari Escapade (has 4 neutral but hot colors that will compliment any look), Lancome Defencils Mascara, MAC lipglass in Spite (great neutral), Black Opal stick foundation in Hazlenut, Milani lip pencil in Dark Coffee , Lancome Kajal Eye Pencil in Gold Blaze, Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets, Revlon lip palette in Honey Bunch, Nars Blush in Lovejoy and makeup-brushes. All of my make-up has to fit inside my small compact Helena Rubenstein make up case. It fits perfectly in my handbag.



As you can see, I pack at least 2 outfits per day. I have a total of 5 oufits that are interchangeable and that will be appropriate for any occasion! Truly fabulous.
