My Donna Rico Dress from Nordstroms

I hope life is treating you good.  Always take time to pamper yourself no matter what!

I have a huge love affair with dresses. I love wearing dresses.  They make me feel pretty and feminine. I am always shopping for dresses at Department and discount stores.  Furthermore, if you buy a dress, it is one outfit and you don't have to worry about finding a shirt to match a skirt or trousers.  Dresses are just simple like that.

Before my Blogher trip, I went to Nordstroms to find a cute dress on sale.  I needed a professional but cute dress for my speech.  Essentially I needed a day dress that could also work as an evening cocktail dress.  Well I found the perfect dress by Donna Rico.  I love this dress so much, I have since given two more speeches/presentations and I have worn this dress to both.  I think of it as my lucky presentation dress. LOL!

This dress is made of stretch sateen cotton.  It has tight cap sleeves and the bodice fits snug but not overly tight.  It is heavily lined and I love that.  I always feel like I am getting more quality if the dress is lined properly.  The dress is sturdy and can be worn to work with classic black pumps or for dinner and cocktails with high-heeled sandals.  Plus I love the floral print.  There is nothing like a well tailored floral print dress.  This dress reminds me of the classic dresses women wore in the 50s and 60s when wearing dresses, pumps, and pearls was an everyday occurrence. Classic.

This is my new favorite dress and I can't wait to purchase my next Donna Rico creation.  As a matter of fact, I have to have this classic floral print one pocket day dress. The boat neck and fitted bodice is insane!  So me!

Fun Fridays!: American Apparel Flea Market

I know I did not post as much as I usually do this week because I was on vacay with the kids and it is nearly impossible to do anything with two small kids. Fun for them. Work for me. But it was a beach vacay and yall know how much I love the beach!

Anyhoo, I don't know if you guys heard, but American Apparel is having huge Flea Markets in various countries and cities selling their best selling items for as low as $1! $1!  Prices are up to 85% off! Woot!  The American Apparel Flea Market is coming to Atlanta today and Saturday at Atlantic Station.  They have a Facebook Fan Page where you can RSVP for the sale.  Also there is no need to rush or get there early on be the first in line.  American Apparel will continually replenish items all day long.  In addition, visit their Facebook Fan Page and let them know what are your favorite American Apparel items and they will make every effort to make sure they are in stock!  I am just giddy!  I can't wait to stock up on leggings and fitted tees.

Today I am speaking at the 2nd International Conference of Fashion Incubators taking place in Atlanta at the W Buckhead. I will discuss how fashion designers can use social media to get their product to their target audience. Yep..I guess I am a social media expert now. LOL! I am looking forward to it and I know it will be tons of fun. Plus I get a chance to meet new and emerging fashion designers, which I absolutely love!

Fun Fridays! Beauty Rest and Benefit Cosmetics Sale

I hope you are having an outstanding Friday! Divas today I must confess that I am exhausted! I had a very stressful demanding week. So I am taking the day off to get some beauty rest. As I was told by Jackie Silver of AgingBackwards, the best defense against aging and particularly puffy or baggy eyes is proper sleep and rest. Fun Fridays: Cool Sale and other stuff

I hope your Friday is awesome! Well it is very cold, rainy and dark in Atlanta. I think I am going to take the day off and sit on the couch with luxe baby and a blanket! But you know I had to tell you ladies about a super awesome sale. Le Creatif Designs, an interior design and furniture showroom, is having a 50% off sale on all candles! I repeat a 50% off sale on all candles! Why am I so excited? Because my hubby purchased a Danya Decker candle for me last year from Le Creatif Designs. I loooove candles and Danya Decker candles come in a gorgeous container, the scent is very intense and lovely, and they last for a year. No kidding! These are the best candles. They usually retail for $40.00 but they are now $20.00! I am so going to stock up! Le Creatif Designs has an awesome showroom and they sale tons of cool furniture and accessories. Fun Fridays: Labor Day Sales and Other Events

I am so excited about the three day weekend! However it will be busy but with fun stuff. My son has a birthday party to attend at Chuck E. Cheese. He loves Chuck E. Cheese. Plus the pizza is good! Yum! And of course I plan on doing some beauty and thrift shopping. Yipee! This leads me to inform you wonderful people of a few great sales and events going on this Labor Day weekend. First, my favorite thrift store, The Junior League of Atlanta's Nearly New Shop, is having a 50% off sale on EVERYTHING, Labor Day, Monday, September 1. Check it out here. You can find gently used fall items like cashmere sweaters, fitted blazers, and pencil skirts. Also, CVS is currently having a sale on all Revlon products. The sale is buy one get one free! This sale ends on Saturday, August 30. Lastly, I found out about this sweet event from a fellow twitter Micheal King. Ikea is offering free breakfast all Labor Day Weekend for its customers! I hear it is pretty good. What a great way to get us to shop. I do need another rug and some throw pillows!

Napoleon Perdis Long Black Mascara: My Review

I am ready for the weekend how about you? Of course I have another Napoleon Perdis product review considering the awesome sale Sephora is currently having on all Napoleon Perdis products. Read about the sale here. I have been using Napoleon Perdis's Long Black Mascara and I like it. I am not in love with it, but it is pretty good. The best thing about this Mascara is that it has a naturally bent wand that is like a built in lash curler. I do not have to curl my lashes at all. This wand definitely does the trick! Also this wand is very effective in reaching those little tiny hard to reach lashes. It is a pretty decent lengthening Mascara. After applying two coats my lashes were definitely nice and long. It also thickens pretty well too. It is not the best separating Mascara, but for long thick lashes it is perfect. It has an anti-irritant in the formula for sensitive eyes, which I really like. It also contains allantoin, candellila wax, beeswax and collagen, so it conditions your lashes very nicely. This Mascara regularly retails for $22, but due to the Sephora sale, you can purchase it online here for only....$5.50! Hurry up ladies, the sale lasts until all Napoleon Perdis products are gone gone gone!
