New York Fashion Week Kicks Off Today!

Did you know positive energy is more powerful than negative energy?  If you don't believe me, just try it!

Today is the official start to New York Fashion Week.  I went two seasons ago and it was exhausting, exhilarating, beautiful and a once in a lifetime event.  Unfortunately, I have to work so I will not be in New York this season. Boo.  However, rest assured Luxetips will bring you the backstage and behind the scenes looks for Fall 2011.

For example, I just received word that ALL of Lancôme's national make-up artist including Daniel Martin will work together for the first time at the Chris Benz show.  Wowza!  Lancôme will showcase all of their new make-up for Fall 2011.  You know I love Lancôme and I can't wait to see the looks they create.

And if you don't know, Chris Benz is a fashion week sensation and is clothes are so creative and amazing.  I can't wait to see his fall line!

I AM AN AMATUER MAKE-UP ARTIST!

Hello Divas!

How was your Memorial Day weekend?  Mine was fabulous! I spent time with my family and friends and it was just lovely!

As a matter of fact, a good friend of mine, Jackie, was the keynote speaker for the 31st Annual Christian Women's Retreat and she asked me to do her make-up.  Of course I said yes because in my mind I am a celebrity make-up artist! LOL!  Jackie also has a fabulous blog entitled, after the alter call, that discusse the issues Christians face "after the alter call."  It is a great read!

Well here are the results!

She was very pleased with the results!  I went for a professional crisp look but with a little pizazz.  I really love her eyes!  I think they are the best I have ever done.

Of course I used mostly Lancome products. Why? Because they are just darn good! Specifically, I used:

Face

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Foundation in Suede 2(w)
Nars Blush in Lovejoy
Lancome Tropiques Mineral Bamboo Bronzer on top of Nars Blush and all over face.
Benefit Cosmetics Lust Duster in Nugget as a highlighter.

Eyes

Lancome Color Design Sensational Effects Smooth Hold Eyeshadow: the color "Makeover," (a intense metallic pink) all over lid, "Drape" on the brow bone.  I used Lancome Tropiques Mineral Bamboo Bronzer in the crease of her lid. I also lined her bottom lashes with Lancome "Makeover" eyeshadow and used Lancome Kajal eye pencil in Gold Blaze in the inner corner of her eyes.  Of course I finished her eyes with Lancome Defencils Mascara. Classic.

Milani Easyliner in Dark Coffee

Fun Fridays: Atlanta Fashion Week and other tidbits

Hello Divas!

I am loving that today is Friday! As you know Fun Fridays is when I talk about fun and miscellaneous things! Accordingly, I am very thrilled to inform you ladies about Hautelanta Fashion Week. Yes, Atlanta has a fashion week! Hautelanta (love the name!) Fashion Week will take place September 18-21. Hautelanta Fashion Week will feature celebrity hair stylists, make-up artists, and established and emerging designers in the Atlanta area! This is the second year that this fashion extravaganza has been in existence. I have been invited to cover some of the shows and events.
