Last month, my dad left a very impassioned voicemail on my phone suggesting that I blog about the hazardous of unnecessarily long length of shoe laces. I believed his concerned stemmed from the fact that my six year-old nephew rarely ties his laces. While I didn't jump on the suggestion, I saw his point. Safety has its place in fashion. Unfortunately, I learned this lesson all too late. Last week, my flat feet and thin ankles were sliding down into my patent round toe Gucci pumps due to my panty hose. (An all-around bad combination- the flat feet, thin ankles, and hose.) I was crossing the busiest street in Atlanta, when all of a sudden I found myself fumbling to get my shoe back. A black hatch-back was storming down the street. First, I thought, "Oh my God, I'm going to die." Then, out of habit, I looked down to see if my shoes were scuff. The hatch back had not dropped its speed either. The moral of the story is: 1) try your shoes on with and without hose and 2) always have a pair of insoles handy to help ensure a perfect fit. I particularly like the Dr. Scholl's for Her High Heel Insoles. The gel insoles raise the foot in the shoe and provide comfort without making your foot feel like it has been stuffed into your shoe. You can find them at for Drugstore.com for $9.99. Unfortunately, you can no longer find the Gucci pumps, but if I happen to run across them again, you will be the first to know!
Until tomorrow,
Chamele
