George Clooney Replacing Robert Downey Jr. in "Gravity" Posted: 17 Dec 2010 12:08 AM PST George Clooney is attached to do Alfonso Cuaron's sci-fi thriller "Gravity" opposite Sandra Bullock. According to deadline, Clooney replaces Robert Downey, Jr. after he "bow out of the project because of scheduling problems". Two astronauts played by the team leader (Clooney) and Bullock's character are fighting to survive on a remote space station after satellite debris wipes out the rest of the crew and destroys most of the station.
