PETA on Lady Gaga wearing Meat Dress to VMAs Posted: 13 Sep 2010 05:12 PM PDT Aside from winning eight Moonmen, Lady GaGa is the most buzz about in terms of her full raw meat "costume" at 2010 MTV Video Music Awards held at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California on Sunday (September 12). PETA is definitely not laughing! PETA president Ingrid E. Newkirk writes, "Lately, Lady Gaga has been having a hard time keeping her act 'over the top. Wearing a dress made out cuts of dead cows is offensive enough to bring comment, but someone should whisper in her ear that there are more people who are upset by butchery than who are impressed by it." Newkirk adds, "Meat is the decomposing flesh of a tormented animal who didn't want to die, and after a few hours under the TV lights, it would smell like the rotting flesh it is and likely be crawling in maggots -- not too attractive, really." It is not the first time Lady Gaga wore a raw meat outfit, she also did it on the cover of Vogue Hommes Japan Magazine.
