I hope your life is fabulous!
I do have more posts to write about my travels in California. I did attend the BlogHer conference in San Diego and it was as usual awesome. I also was able to get out and see San Diego. San Diego is beyond beautiful. Loved it!
Now back to beauty! Before I took my Essence trip to New Orleans, I needed to get my eyebrows done in a bad way. I had been going to my local nail salon for a year and all of a sudden my left eyebrow was thinning out. I mean there was a section of hair missing in my left brow. Disaster! They only charge $7 for an eyebrow wax and I thought I was getting over. I guess it is true what they say, "you get what you pay for"
So I had to find a "professional" to bring my eyebrows back to life. I heard about The Anastasia Brow Studio at Nordstroms from Funkidivagirl and other fellow beauty bloggers. I was very familiar with the Anastasia eyebrow kit, but I am not the type to do my own eyebrows....or hair, nails, etc.
I booked an appointment to get my eyebrows done and when the sales lady told me the price over the phone, I was a little shocked. $30??? Really? The most I ever paid for eyebrow grooming was $15 and that was at a very chic spa. I kept thinking for $30 she better work a miracle, because that is a lot of money to pay for eyebrow waxing!
I arrived at Nordstroms and the Anastasia eyebrow specialist was right on time. She had me sit down in a reclining chair and she began to inspect my eyebrows. She commented on the thinning but indicated it would grow back and everything would be fine. I was skeptical.
She explained to me where my inner eyebrow, arch and outer eyebrow should start and end. She marked those points with an eye pencil. She then chose an Anastasia eyebrow stencil that fit my eyebrows and face. She colored them in with a dark brown pencil. After removing the stencil she waxed and tweezed any hairs outside of the color line. When she was done, I did notice a little section of hair on my left eyebrow was still missing, but she explained that it would grow back. She colored in the missing section and then applied highlighter to my brow bone to accentuate my new eyebrows.
When she was done, I did not notice anything special. I kept thinking to myself, I paid $30 bucks for this? But they were neat and tidy. But the magic of the Anastasia eyebrow experience did not happen until 5 days later. After 5 days, I looked in the mirror and realized my eyebrows were simply perfect. The hair was growing back in and when it did, I had these beautiful and immaculate eyebrows. Wow!
Check out my eyebrows in this pic of me and Garcelle Beauvais.
You can check here to see if any Nordstroms in your area has the Anastasia Brow Studio.
Toodles!
