'Last Comic Standing' finalist Mike DeStefano dies

Comedian Mike DeStefano, who was one of the finalists on last season's edition of  "Last Comic Standing", died of a massive heart attack Sunday night (March 6). He was 44.


Mike's management, 3 Arts Entertainment released this statement (via Punchline):
"We are indeed incredibly saddened by the loss of this amazing man. He had touched the lives of many with his unique brand of comedy and was looking forward to sharing the same with so many more. Mostly, we will all miss his huge heart and incredibly loving and selfless passion for people.

Our friend Mike DeStefano passed away on March 6."
Mike, who was HIV positive, has surpassed his heroin addiction and he had been clean for 11 years.

DeStefano had been set to perform his one-man show A Cherry Tree In The Bronx on Wednesday at the Barrow Street Theater in New York City.
