Fun Fridays! CVS Sales and More!

Hello Divas!

I hope your week has been fantastic!  It is cold again in Atlanta, in the 20s!! Whoo!

Well it is Fun Fridays and time to talk about things that are fun....like shopping! LOL!

My favorite drugstore, CVS, is having some great sales on Make-Up.  All Rimmel Cosmetics are buy one get one 50% off.  Select Loreal Products are $5 with a CVS card.  Revlon has a sale on its Photo Ready Foundation.  This foundation is all the rage and I can't wait to try it out! It is only $12 with a CVS card.

Although I have tons of makeup, I feel like I need new make-up.  You have to keep it new and fresh!  Currently I am having a pink obsession and I want the perfect pink lip gloss or lip stick.  Pink just makes me think of Spring and Sundresses! I am going to check out the colors below this weekend.

Lancome Bronze Heat.  A bronzy-pink color. Love it!

Mac Cosmetics Viva Glam GaGa. A true pink! Love the packaging!

Chanel's Rouge Coco Lipstick in Mademoiselle.  A dark luxurious pink!

I am trying all 3 and will get one or maybe two. We will see. Which one you think would look best on me?  I have an idea, but I will try them first!

NARS Purple Rain Nail Polish! Purple Rain...Purple Rain

Hello Divas!

I heard a powerful message last week that I want to share.  If you focus on being thankful for all of your blessings, you will not have time to be envious of others. Wow! So be thankful!

I opened my email the other day and received my weekly email from one of my favorite brands, NARS.  And look what popped up:

Love love love it! NARS describes this color as an "intensely gothic purple."  I love the color.  Plus it has tiny sparkles.  This is a beautiful shade for Spring and Summer. I can't wait to get my hands on this color.  If I did not have to go into the office everyday, I would so rock this color on my nails around the clock.  But for now, I will just settle for my toes and on a much needed vacay!

Hot Drugstore Find of the Week: Neosporin Lip Health Daily Hydration Therapy

Hello Divas!

How is life treating you?  I hope beautifully!

As I have stated before, my lips become extremely dry during Winter months.  I mean if I do not keep my lips hydrated, they become cracked and peeling. Ugh! So when Neosporin contacted me to try their new Lip Health Daily Hydration Lip Therapy, I eagerly agreed to give it a try.

This product is cream based as opposed to ointment based.  I found this quite surprising because of course I associate Neosporin with ointment.  However, the cream works well on dry cracked lips.  The product immediately absorbed into my lips and they immediately felt soothed and moisturized. Yes, I would definitely say this product is more like a "moisturizer" for your lips. Love it!  What I really like about this product is that I did not have to keep re-applying the cream to keep my lips moisturized.  After one application, my lips stayed smoothed and hydrated throughout the day.  I was very impressed.  And this product contains SPF 20! Yes SPF 20! You Divas know how much I love SPF in my skincare products.  The best moisturizers and eye creams I love contain SPF 15 or higher. Too much exposure to sun causes aging and I want to slow down the aging process as much as possible.

Neosporin Lip Health, Daily Hydration Therapy is a must try.  It retails for $4.99 and you can purchase it here or at any CVS.

Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week: More of Lancome Backstage at L'Wren Scott Show Fall

Hello Divas!

I hope your life is fabulous! Today is a gorgeous day so I am extremely happy.

Well Fashion Week is winding down but there is still more hot make-up looks to cover that have me anticipating Fall 2010.

Lancôme  created the "smokin hot" make-up for the L"Wren Scott Show and they did not disappoint.  Lancôme Creative Director, Aaron De Mey, created a "glam rock" look that complemented L' Wren Scott's fabulously sexy clothes.

De Mey used Lancome Teinte Idole foundation (my favorite luxe foundation, it goes on like second skin) and Blush Subtil in Shimmer Mocha Havana on the cheeks.  However, the real star of the show is the Ombre Magnétique eyeshadow in Black used on the eyes. Love it!  This color is from Lancome Fall 2010 Collection and will certainly sell out. Check it out!

De Mey also used Ombre Magnétique, a gel-like shimmery shadow, in the inner corner of the eye.  Lancome's Hypnôse Drama Mascara completed the look.  The results? Sultry!

The lips remained neutral and L’Absolu Rouge in Rich Cashmere and La Lacque Fever gloss in Sensation, on the lips.

The look was complete with a beautiful blue-grey nail polish.  Lancôme customized this color for L'Wren Scott.  This color does not have a name just yet, but be sure to look out for it this fall! I can't wait!

New York Fashion Week: Aveda Backstage At Christian Siriano

Hello Divas!

I am back! Yes I have been on a little hiatus, yes sometimes the Diva needs rest! But never fear, I am bringing my fab readers all the backstage hotness during Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week!

The fabulous hair stylists from Aveda, worked their magic at the Christian Siriano and Jason Wu shows.  And apparently up-dos will still be the trend for Fall 2010.  However, these up-dos are a bit more chic and glamourous!

When Christiano was creating his Fall 2010 line, he said his inspiration was "Parisian Women from the 1960s and the idea of getting "dressed up" from morning to evening."  "The line includes soft romantic shapes that compliment strong structured jackets, coats, and cocktail dresses."  Funny my friend Natasha and I were just having a dicussion about how women really dressed up in the 60s and our generation is so missing that. But I digress.   Lead Aveda Stylist, Antoinette Beenders drew from Christian Siriano's inspiration and created a 1960s Parision Glamour Wave Updo using Aveda Control Force Hairspray.  She said this look is great for a "very chic and glamourous evening."  I love it! Back to Glamour we go!
Simply Gorgeous!

Current Facial Routine: Avon Gold Elmusion and Perricone MD

Hello Divas!

I hope your life is fabulous!

Saturday I went to a good friend's baby shower this weekend at The Original Chocolate Bar in Downtown Atlanta.  This place is insanely fabulous! But I digress. One of my friend's remarked on how good my skin looked. And you know I took a second look and it does look pretty good. Why?  Well for the past two months, I have been attacking my hyperpigmentation issues.  I have been using Perricone MD Pigment Corrective Moisturizer in the a.m and I am using Avon's Anew Ultimate Night Gold Emulsion at night.

I was given the opportunity from the folks at Perricone MD to try their Pigment Corrective treatment.  I had been using Perricone MD's Pigment Corrective for a while and had not noticed any improvement with discoloration.   However, the moisturizer did make my skin texture smooth and it works as a great primer for my make-up. I mean my make-up goes on like a dream.

I started using the Avon Gold Elmusion Ultimate Night treatment a month later.  I had been sent the treatment to try and had not used it.  But after doing research on treatments for anti-aging and hyper-pigmentation, this treatment kept getting rave reviews.  Users of Gold Emulsion kept singing its praises!  They loved how fast it worked and how well it improved their skintone.  So I gave it a try and boy I am happy I did!  This treatment is a gel and it quickly absorbs into your skin.  When applying Gold Emulsion, my face starts to tingle and I imagine that this tingle signifies that it is working its magic.  After two months of use, my skin is fuller and so smooth.  My face feels so supple and full of moisture.  Also, my hyper-pigmentation is almost gone.  I really do not need to use foundation.  I still use a teeny bit to cover new dark marks I have created from picking blackheads. Bad habit of mine.

Anyhoo, my new facial routine has resulted in great skin and I am elated!  Avon's Gold Emulsion regularly sales for $34 but it is now on sale for $29.  Divas if you purchase a treatment like this at any Department store or Sephora, you would spend $75 plus! What an amazing deal! And I promise you I am not just saying that because it was free. This stuff really is like Gold. It works. Do some research yourself.  Dr. Perricone's Pigment Corrective Moisturizer retails for $95. Yes very steep. Do I think it is worth the price. NO. (See I am being honest and I did receive this for free also! LOL!) Although it is great, you can find something less expensive that works a bit faster.

Do you have a new product you are using that you love and want to share? Please do tell. I am a product junkie! LOL!

Hot Drugstore Find of the Week: Revlon Tweezers!

Hello Divas!

I hope life is superb! Remember to love and respect yourself. If you don't no one else will.

Divas I lost my favorite La Vaque Tweezers.  I so need to contact them so they can send me a replacement pair.  So I have had to find a suitable replacement in the meantime.  I purchased a pair of Revlon Point Tip Tweezers from CVS and I am extremely pleased with their performance.

I like that the Tweezers allow a firm grip.  They don't slide out of my hands.  They are just the right size.  They are not too big and not too small.  But, what I love most about the Tweezers is how well they remove unwanted hairs.  The point firmly grips hairs and pull them out firmly but gently.  You don't have to worry about grabbing a piece of hair and it breaks mid-shaft and not from the root. I love that!  I have used so many Tweezers in the past that simply break off hairs without removing them completely. Ugh!

Revlon Tweezers retail for $2.99 and you purchase them at CVS or online here.

Sale Time! Get Your Staples!

Hello Divas!

How are you wonderful people?  I hope fab, fab, fab!

Lately I have been receiving tons of emails advertising sales at some of my favorite luxe stores.  The beginning of the New Year is always the time to get luxe items at deep discounts.  Currently, Nordstroms, Saks, Loehmanns are having FANTASTIC sales on high quality jeans, dresses, and shoes.  Here are some of my lust items:

Helene Berman Floral Sheath Dress. Stunning. Just Stunning.  I always recommend that every Diva own a classic black Sheath Dress.  However, this Sheath with its artistic floral print is classic but so beautiful.  The hot pink, white, and black colors stand out and make this dress a winner.  It is definitely a "go to" item when in a crunch! Love it! This dress originally retailed for $218.  It is now selling for $129!

Stuart Weitzman Crisscross Platform Pump.  This pump is insane and only $166.  It is a Croc and Ostrich embossed leather platform pump with a stacked heel. A shoe like this by any other brand would cost you a cool $750 plus! This is a steal! This pump originally retailed for $355. As you Divas know, I am a Stuart Weitzman fan. I love his pumps! You get the same quality as Manolo or Jimmy Choo for half the cost! Love it!

Jimmy Choo Peony Tall Leather Boots.  These boots are at Saks and are only $385! So attainable.  They originally retailed for $965! That is almost 70% off! Wowza!

J Brand, Rag & Bone, and and 7 For All Mankind select styles are also selling for 50% off at Saks.

Shop and enjoy!
