It is Friday! I hope your day is wonderful! My favorite thrift store, the Junior League of Atlanta, Nearly New Shop is having another 50% off everything sale today, October 31st. Read my review of this awesome thrift store here. You can find gently used high end jeans, shoes, cashmere sweaters, and purses. Also I want to remind you that today is the last day for the 50% off all candles sale Le Creatif Designs is having. This interior design and furniture showroom has the BEST candles. Check out the sale in the ad. Lastly, I attended the Pekuliar Treasures Boutique grand opening last Saturday. The boutique is truly lovely. The space is creative and comfy. It looks and feels like a lovely artistic home. Great idea! I met Timeesha, the event planner for the opening and she has a blog entitled, Posh Events. Her blog gives fantastic tips on event planning and she did an awesome review of the grand opening. I could not had said it better myself! Check it out here! And yes that is Moi, in the last pic!

Oatmeal Scrub: Home Beauty Product and Great Exfoliant!

I hope your day is going great! I know I missed my Hot Drugstore Find of the Week yesterday. Yikes! Why? I have been up for a couple of nights with a sick little luxe baby and by the time I get my day going, I am frantically trying to catch up with work. Well luxe baby is getting better and I will have more Hot Drugstore Finds next week. But today, I want to hip you fabulous ladies to a GREAT home beauty exfoliant: Oatmeal. Yes Oatmeal. I know you have probably heard the benefits of Oatmeal as an exfoliant before, but let me tell you why I love it!

1. Its organic. No added junk!
2. Oatmeal is effective to remove dead skin from face and body, but it is also very gentle..so it will not irritate your skin.
3. Its inexpensive. Considering the current economic turmoil, Divas have to be creative when budgeting. An 18 ounce can of Quaker oats retail for about $5. Not bad.
4. It is so easy to use Oatmeal as an exfoliant. Simply combine a scoop of oatmeal with just enough water to make a paste. Scrub on face or body and then rinse. You will notice that your skin is smooth but also soft. Plus it does not dry out your skin. Awesome!

Using oatmeal as an exfoliant in the winter is one of my favorite home based beauty regimens. What is yours? I would love to hear what natural home products you use!

Lisa Hoffman: Day Cream with SPF 15

Brrrrrr! It is so cold in Atlanta! We totally skipped fall. But I am wearing my Uggs so I guess it is okay. lol! About two months ago, my dear blogging friend, Bionic Beauty, promoted an opportunity to receive a free full size sample of Lisa Hoffman's Day Cream with SPF 15. Well I did and I have been using it for 6 weeks now. Some friends and I were discussing the Day Cream two weeks ago and we all LOOOVE IT! Why is it so great? All of the facial products come in 1 oz bottles that are spill proof and slender, so they will easily travel. I love the concept! But I have barely used a tenth of the cream and I know it will last for several more months. Lancome CILS Booster XL: Mascara Base

Happy Monday! It is sooo cold outside, but sunny and pretty! Winter is early this year. Well ladies as you probably know by now, I am on a Lancome kick! But I have always been a fan of their products. My new favorite Lancome product is the CILS Booster XL Mascara Enhancing Base. Now I am a true Defencils fan and it usually gives me very long and perfectly defined lashes. But when I apply CILS Booster first and then apply Defencils, boy you better look out! My lashes are super long, lush and thick, and perfectly defined. I so HEART this Mascara base. I also tested the power of this Mascara base on my girlfriend. She has small lashes and she told me that I could not make them long or pop. Well I applied the CILS Booster and her lashes were long and poppin! She was AMAZED. Fun Fridays: Cool Sale and other stuff

I hope your Friday is awesome! Well it is very cold, rainy and dark in Atlanta. I think I am going to take the day off and sit on the couch with luxe baby and a blanket! But you know I had to tell you ladies about a super awesome sale. Le Creatif Designs, an interior design and furniture showroom, is having a 50% off sale on all candles! I repeat a 50% off sale on all candles! Why am I so excited? Because my hubby purchased a Danya Decker candle for me last year from Le Creatif Designs. I loooove candles and Danya Decker candles come in a gorgeous container, the scent is very intense and lovely, and they last for a year. No kidding! These are the best candles. Traveling with my Family

I hope you are having a wonderful day! Now I don't write about traveling or anything of the sort. I leave that to funkidivagirland she is good at it! But Tuesday night I participated in a Girl's Night Out on Twitter! Yes some of us Twitter Divas have a girl's night out every Tuesday night. This past Tuesday the subject was Travel. Specifically where to travel, traveling with kids, roadtrips, international travel, etc. What a fun conversation! All participants were asked to write a travel related post this week..so here goes.

This past weekend the hubby and I packed up the kids to take a roadtrip to Middle Virginia for my good girlfriend's wedding. It was an 8 hour trip and the first roadtrip we have taken with both kids. Luxe son was super excited. Here he is cheesing at 9pm the night we left!

As you can see the car is loaded down with stuff. Stroller, luggage, baby essentials, toys, you name it. Kids come with a lot of stuff!

Luxe baby was more curious about what all the excitement was about. Look at that look!


Unfortunately, I did not have the correct directions so we drove 4 hours out of the way! So my hubby had to get us back on the right track at 4 am in the morning. Not a pleasant experience.

But we arrived at the hotel at 8:30 am the next morning. Long trip. Here is my son after showing off some break dancing moves on the floor.


Of course, we are here for a wedding. I was the amatuer makeup artist for the bride...and here she is:


I used Lancome La Base Pro Primer, Lancome Teint Idole Ultra foundation, Lancome Sun Touched eyeshadow on lid, Lancome Click in the crease, and Iman Sahara on brow bone. And of course Defencil's on her lashes. On her lips I used Mac lip liner in Chesnut and Revlon Lip Palette in Honey Bunch. Cheeks..Nars Exhibit A of course. Very natural but beautiful.

Unfortunately, I do not have anymore photos because I broke my camera while at the reception. Yikes! But the next morning after the wedding, we enjoyed viewing the beautiful fall leaves, the gorgeous mountains, and bright sun in Middle Virgina. We had breakfast at Biscuitville with friends. Yummmmy! And of course, on the way back we stopped at the Prime Outlet in Gaffney, SC, exit 90 off of Highway 85, and did some serious damage. I picked up several cute items for luxe baby at Carters. Luxe son got some new cargo pants and a cool button down shirt. Hubby came up on a beautiful quilted Ralph Lauren coat that was orginally $400 for only $69! I got a very cute purple sweater dress and jeans from Gap and I very nice slim fit pink polo shirt. We also had dinner at Five Guys Burgers and then back to Atlanta.

All in all it was a good trip. My tip when taking a road trip with kids: travel at night. The kids will sleep through it. When we arrived in VA, they were bright eyed and bushy tailed! No drama! Also be prepared for any possible situation. Pack extra clothes, diapers, baby food, strollers, toys, etc. Wipes are key and most importantly just go with the flow!

Lancome's Magnifique: Gorgeous Scent!

I hope your Monday is wonderful! It is soooo cold in Atlanta. But I like the change of season. I am currently in love with Lancome's Magnifique parfum. I guess you guys have noticed a theme here...I am loving Lancome right now. Fabulous! I received Magnifique as a sample with a gift with purchase set. Magnifique is classic but sultry. It is definitely one of those "signature scent" parfums. Magnifique is spicy and woodsy so it has a very sultry musk undertone. But it is also floral so it is feminine and pretty. I wore this scent this weekend at the wedding I attended and I received tons of compliments. My hubby LOVES it! LOL! So you know what I am doing today...purchasing a 1 fluid ounce limited edition bottle of Magnifique at Sephora for $45.00. Plus doesn't Anne Hathaway look absolutely stunning in the Ad campaign? Lancome's Teint Idole Ultra Foundation

I hope you are having a wonderful day! Recently I discovered Lancome's Teint Idole Ultra Foundation. My good girlfriend is getting married this weekend and she asked moi to do her makeup. I play with makup for fun, but all of my friends think I am an undercover makeup artist. LOL! We ventured to the Lancome counter to look for eyeshadow and mascara, but my friend let the makeup artist give her a wedding look. Well the makeup artist used Lancome's Teint Idole Ultra Foundation on my friend. This foundation is so sick! First of all it comes in a great range of colors that literally match any skintone. My girlfriend is a medium dark mocha color and the color matched perfectly! Second, the coverage is amazing. Any and all blemishes or uneven skin tone disappears when using this foundation. Third, the foundation feels like satin on your skin and you truly have a smooth satin finish. As an extra added bonus this foundation is re-touch free. I used it on my girlfriend this weekend when she took her bridal photos and we never had to re-touch! Amazing. Also this foundation boasts that it lasts for 14 hours! Now you definitely need this type of staying power for a wedding.

Hot Drugstore Find of the Week: Wet N' Wild's H2O Proof Blending Eye Pencil

I hope your Wednesday is just fabulous! My Hot Drugstore Find of the Week is Wet n' Wild's H2O Proof Blending Eye Pencil. I picked up this beauty last week at CVS. I was in the mood to try a navy eyeliner and I saw that Wet n' Wild had a beautiful royal blue color called Denim Chrome. Ladies I am IN LOVE with this eye pencil. It is small and compact so it easily fits in your makeup bag. One side of the eye pencil is the eyeliner and the other side is a smudger! You know I love getting two products for one! The pencil is creamy so it glides on very smooth. Also it is water resistant. Lastly, you can use the smudger to create a sexy smokey eye. I love this pencil! I know I already said that. This eye pencil retails for $1.99 and you can purchase it online here or at any CVS.

Kojic Acid: Effective Treatment for Hyperpigmentation and Age Spots

I hope you are having a lovely day! A couple of my friends were inquiring about good products to treat hyperpigmentation or dark age spots. Hyperpigmentation is a common skin condition experienced by women of color. Basically, the skin scars and create dark spots where the skin is injured or traumatized. Tweezing, waxing, shaving, and picking pimples can all cause hyperpigmentation. My recommendation is always Kojic Acid. Kojic Acid is a fungal metabolic product, that inhibits the production of melanin, which causes hyperpigmentation and dark spots.

I previously had severe acne and hyperpigmentation. This condition started when I was a teenager. I had tried every type of over the counter and prescribed cream, gel, and pill. Finally in 2001, my new dermatologist prescribed a cream that contained Kojic Acid as the main ingredient. The results were amazing! As a matter of fact, after 1 month of use, my dark spots and scarring were literally gone. My skin is in fantastic condition now. I have learned how to take care of it. But if I am stressed and experience break outs or my skin is traumatized I always order the cream from my former Dermatolgist, Dr. Brent Schillinger. Seriously, within weeks my dark spots are gone and my skin is back to normal. If you are experiencing hyperpigmentation or have dark spots, contact your dermatologist and request a cream that contains Kojic Acid. It works!

Guerlain's Issima Midnight Secret: My Secret Weapon

I hope your Monday started off with a bang! As usual I am tired because I have a 6 month old daughter and a son that wakes me up at the crack of dawn for breakfast. Not to mention that I usually go to bed at 1 am, because the night time is when I can work in peace! Well I have a secret weapon that allows me to wake up with a well rested peaceful look despite my late nights and 4 hours of sleep. My secret weapon is Guerlain's Issima Midnight Secret. Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Lip Gloss

I hope your day is wonderful! I have so many lip glosses and lip balms that I really can't wear them all. LOL! But there are a few lip products that I just keep coming back to and Clinique's Superbalm Moisturizing Tinted Lip Gloss is one of them. I just love this lip gloss. It is super super moisturizing. It is not sticky..very smooth. Plus it contains antioxidants to protect your lips. And the smell is just so yummy. I have the Superbalm lip gloss in Raspberry. It smells like a piece of Raspberry candy and it has a nice berry color. I love wearing this lip gloss while running errands or hanging out with the kids. Total Beauty Supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

I hope your day is fantastic! Mischo of Mischo Beauty wanted me to hip you guys to the Total Beauty - Total Cure Campaign. TotalBeauty.com has enlisted beauty bloggers and elite beauty companies to participate in a month long (Month of October) breast cancer awareness campaign. As Total Beauty states,

Hot Drugstore Find of the Week: Cover Girl Queen Collection Pearl Peach Lip Gloss

I hope your week is fantastic! Mine is hectic! I am frantically preparing for a conference I have to attend later this week! But I had to tell you guys about this fabulous lip gloss that creates the PERFECT peach lips. Now if you have been reading my posts on New York and Hautelanta Fashion Week, you know that peach lips, eyes, and cheeks are in for Spring 09. So of course I went on the hunt to find the perfect peach lip shade.

Well divas, I definitely found it in the Cover Girl Queen Collection lip gloss in Pearl Peach. This lip gloss has tons of color, a rich shine, and it smells sooo nice. Plus it is so smooth and not sticky at all! And this peach shade looks great on all skin tones. Now one of my loyal readers Chamele asked me how to create the perfect peach lip. Like a lot of women of color, Chamele stated that her lips are different shades. The top lip is dark and the bottom lip is light. Well I have the same issue! What I did to create an even peach lip is line my lips with MAC's lip liner in Chestnut (a cult fav). However, I also used a lip brush to blend the lip pencil on my bottom lighter lip. I then applied the Peach Pearl lip gloss and the perfect peach lips was created. Awesome! I am getting so many comments on this lip gloss! You can purchase this lip gloss at CVS or online here.
